Jumpers guide Maxtor 2B020H1 20Gb Slim IDE 3.5'' Hard Drive


Maxtor jumper as follow:
looking at the connector top row 5 pins, buttom row 4 pins.
the single pin on the top row is index pin.
master jumper is located between top 2nd pin and 1st buttom, counting from the left.
slave has no jumper on any of the pins.
cable select jumper is located between top 4th and buttom 3rd pin. counting from the left.

Need maual/recipe book


You can download the full manual here for free, the option is to the middle right of the page. "Download the complete user guide" You will have to agree to a disclaimer first. The pdf file is small, wont take long to download. Make sure you have a pdf reader installed such as adobe or easyPDF to view it.

Connecting a maxtor one touch 111 60GB mini edition to a computer using MS windos 98SE


The maxtor is a usb2.0 device. Given that you are using Win98 I would guess that the computer is fairly old. It probably doesn't have usb2.0 ports. Also Win98 had very poor support for usb - even in SE. There may be a software solution out there and you may be able to get a usb2.0 card but.......

According to the maxtor website it says, OneTouch 4 Plus Software
To obtain the software for your hard drive, contact Seagate Technical Support by email.
Important: Please include your drive serial number and your mailing address when contacting technical support. The software will be provided as a special download link in the response email to you.
