Question about Sony Eye Toy Camera for Playstation 3

Open Question

Software 'select' screen won't go away after clicking 'ok'

We installed the PS3 eye toy and d/l the free software and can see ourselves in the background. But in the foreground, is a 'select' screen that says: EyeCreate automatically saves data to the HDD while recording and editing clips. Do not switch off the power when the HDD access indicator is flashing. OK. There is no response when clicking that OK with any button on the wireless controller to get rid of that screen. Thanks for our help!

SOURCE: GT 5/PS 3 frozen??

I had the exact same problem (and apparently many others did as well). I did have a Rock Band dongle plugged into the PS3 when the problem occurred. I don't know if that was a contributing factor or not. I unpluged the Rock Band dongle, then connected the (wireless) PS3 controller directly to the PS3 console with a USB cable, then I turned off the system and restarted it a few minutes later. I was then able to click on OK and proceed with the installation.

SOURCE: is it ok to charge my controller on laptop/pc

There isn;t a reason why you shouldn't charge using a laptop/pc, did a bit of resaearch and many people claim to be charging thier pads via a pc's usb,
I tried it on mine and it didn't work, it recognised the PS3 pad and installed it as a game controller, which was pretty cool but it wouldn't charge, haven't tried it on my mac yet . If it doesn't work first time try a diff. usb port on your laptop pc, as sometimes its certain usb ports on your system that carry enough juice to power a device

SOURCE: PS3 Controller wont turn on?

mine sometimes does that, just try pushing and holding it until the options come up on the screen, then turn off controller. Then try turning it back on. If that doesn't work, turn the ps3 off when its done charging, then unplug it while its off. This should work.

Crystal Eye is a webcam application included with some Acer laptops.
Laptops that have the Crystal Eye WebCam application installed also have a camera built in to the monitor.
Crystal Eye can adjust the camera's brightness, contrast and color intensity, and capture photos.

this is a free driver solutions
This will automatically search for and find the correct driver
you will have to update every driver individually once you update you might be asked whether you
want to restart or make a system restore point click no to both of these then continue updating each driver free then restart once all of the drivers have been updated
Some webcams and programs require additional software, although that should be installed with the webcam if things are right.
But is does not harm to check if your Java, Flash and Quicktime software are installed and up to date.
But certainly check your DirectX software, since all video applications, including webcams, use DirectX for video processing.
Try downloading the latest DirectX version and install it (Windows XP: DirectX 9.0c - Windows Vista: DirectX 10).

How to record a webcam video

I do not the original software from the camera, but you can use VLC, wich is open source and free, and it works great. You can download it here

After you install it, run it.

Select File, and then "open capture device".

In "Video device name", select your webcam. In the same screen but lower, checkmark "stream/save" and click on "settings".

That will open another window, checkmark "file" and type a file name.

Click ok on both windows and start recording

Good luck!!

DVD region code lock unlocking on PS3

this is for people who really wants to watch there dvd movies no matter what region it is on a pal ps3 all you have to do is burn it onto a dvd-r and make that dvd region free, below are instructions on how to do that

ok i'm not sure if this will work on an NTSC ps3 console.

software required
dvd decrypter
dvd regionfree
dvd fab platinum 5 (you can use this software with the dvd region free without the dvd decrypter program but i don't do it this way, i like to do it the long way)

instructions
1. after installing all software load dvd region free and dvd decrypter
2. extract the entire movie into a seperate folder
3. run dvd fab plat 5 select movie folder and away you go

alternatively just install dvd region free and dvd fab plat 5 and do it all in one go with this software i've never done it this way before because i think it may not take out the region code doing this method but again i'ved never tried and it is alot faster

note: these software is very basic to use so i didn't go step by step on how to do what you want it to do

this i've tried this and tested and it works, i recommend doing it this way, it will benefit you, because then it will become a backup of the original copy incase something happens to it, and then you can't even play it anymore.

hope this helps everyone
