Machine gives me the F02 error code and won't drain when all the drain lines are fine. It will sometimes continue through the spin cycle if the load size is decreased.

That is, in short: FO2 is the code for long drain. The filter on your pump is probably clogged with lint and stuff. You have to remove the bottom front panel, 3 screws. The panel will drop and come off. The filter cover is right in front. Get yourself a bunch of towels or a good big plastic bag to collect water. Unscrew the filter cover and twist the filter out. Clean out all the stuff and put it back in.

Please click on the following link for a full explanation of the "F02" error code:

If you have questions, or require assistance with any possible failed parts, please post back and let me know. In a nutshell: Generally this problem is attributed to either a clogged or failed drain pump.
HE3 is more a name than a model#, grab your model# and contact Sears to order a new use&care manual. But....why always a but?....the use&care manual -usually- won't have the fault codes or such in it.

This might help...Duet front load washer repair manual

~Long Drain

~If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes, the water valves are turned off and "F/02" is flashed.

~NOTE: After 4 minutes the "Sud" error will be displayed, then 4 minutes later the F02 error code will be displayed.

Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display.

  • Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked.
  • Check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure the pump is running.
  • Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects.
  • If the above does not correct the problem, replace the pump.

~SUDS LOCK (Overdose of Detergent detected during the Wash Cycle)

~The motor control unit senses a suds lock condition by analyzing the current draw on the drive motor. If "Sud" is displayed a potential suds lock is detected. This may signify a bad pump, an extra heavy load, excessive detergent, or excessive suds.
[*]If too much detergent was used, run the unit through a Rinse/Spin cycle, then a Normal cycle, without adding any detergent. This should clear the unit of the excess detergent. [*]Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked. [*]Check Wire Harness connectors to the Drain Pump, Pressure Switch, and Central Control Unit (CCU) [*]Check/Clean Drain Pump Filter of foreign objects [*]Check Drain Pump [*]Check Pressure Switch [*]Check CCU

Good day. I'll share my experiences with fixing this F02 error in hopes that it helps others. My Duet washing machine (which I believe is similar to the Kenmore) stopped mid-cycle with an F02 error.

I suspected suds build up, so I tried both regular wash cycles (e.g. Normal) and Rinse and Drain cycles multiple times to clear suds in the system, but still received the F02 error. Sometimes the SUD error message came up, but not consistently.

I ran the built-in Diagnostics tests. It made it to C:06 then got stuck.

In both scenarios above, the washing machine continued to try to pump water out, despite the fact that all the water had already been drained. After 8 or so minutes, the F02 error came on. As I understand it, if the pressure switch detects either water or suds, it commands the drain pump to continue. After 8 or so minutes, if it's still detecting water or suds, the F02 error is displayed.

I performed the following with no success:
    1. Check Wire Harness connections - OK
    2. Check Drain pump. – OK, as water drains at a rapid rate
    3. Check Drain pump motor - OK, as water drains at a rapid rate
    4. Check that the Drain hose and Drain Pump Filter is clear of
foreign objects. – OK, ran a cable through both hose assemblies (exterior and interior) and not blocked.
    5. Check the CCU – appears to function normally.
    6. There were no kinks in the hoses, nor was the height of the pump beyond what the manual recommends.

After more diagnostics and troubleshooting, I found that the Pressure Switch was stuck and reported the SUDS state (continuity made between contacts 11 and 14 on the Pressure Switch itself). I ran many Rinse and Normal cycles with no detergent and still got this F02 error. I checked the state of the Pressure Switch’s Empty and Level 1 contacts which intermittently reported the correct water level condition (EMPTY and Level 1). In all cases contacts 11 and 14 (SUDS) were continuously made (connected) irrespective of water level, rinse conditions and the use of no detergent.

I removed the pressure switch and tested it by blowing into the inlet and did hear the switch click, so it seemed to work properly. Given the diagnostics above, I concluded that the pressure switch hose must have been clogged.

How did I ultimately fix the unit? I blew into the pressure switch hose to clear the blockage, and voila - no more F02 errors!

Note that I had used HE and occasionally non-HE in the washing machine. The non-HE probably caused the suds buildup and blockage in the pressure switch hose.

I have a Kenmore Elite HE3 model 44832 200 washer. Will spin sometimes, but doesn't seem to get to full speed. Often won't spin at all and gets F02 error, but it does roll during wash/rinse cycles. ...

he F02 message is a long drain error and it may mean the pump is clogged or bad. You don't provide a lot of detail about if the water is draining out or not but the first thing to check for this error is the drain pump.

The image below shows how to access the pump and remove the filter. This may be your only problem. With the access panel removed you can also make sure the pump is running. Remember to unplug the washer before removing the access panel.

Check the pump for the F02 and make sure you're using HE detergent and there's not excessive suds.

Kenmore Elite HE3t 11042922200 Front Loading. F02 drain Problem

We experienced the same thing. I was able to restart and locate the noise to the water pump. After disassembling the water pump found the impeller shaft sliding out. For some reason this shaft will not stay in place. Had to order a complete pump assembly as the electric motor is not available.

Our Kenmore is washer is giving an F02 code and it is beeping it's a HE4 Elite and we've had it for 5 years.

"F02" is a Long Drain error. If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes this error code will be displayed. In addition, a "SUDS" error may also be generated as a secondary error. This is an indication of a drain pump problem and/or clog in the drain line. You will need to check the following:

1. Check the drain hose to make sure it is not kinked or clogged.
2. Check the electrical connections to the pump and ensure the pump is running.
3. Remove the drain pump filter and check for foreign objects and/or debris.

To check the drain pump, click on the following link for step-by-step instructions.

If the above procedures do not correct the problem, it is recommended by the manufacturer to replace the drain pump

Kenmore frontload works with no load but fails with clothes

Suspect the drum motor. Sounds like a burned winding in the motor which will open when hot and not work under any load.

F02 error on Kenmore front load, followed solution, problem still exist, What next?

cant see what you tried to repair problem (dont see original post) but F02 is a long drain time. or innaddaquate drain. usually from a clogged, drain pump/button trap. ill assume you were told to remove the lower access panel, gain acess to the drain pump assy, clean the "button trap" of foreign derbis. if thats been done and your still having draining issues iehter theres something i nthe drain hose, or perhaps the drain pump impeller has been damaged preventing proper flow of water.
