I no longer have the owners manual and cd that came with the camcorder when purchased. I want to transfer the 8mm cassettes to dvd and dont know how to set this up

first of all you need a video-input port (yellow RCA) and of course line in for sound, most aditional TV-cards have it, then you can use any proper software to stream and record on pc hdd. after that copy to dvd with any cd burn software.

or

if you have a dvd recorder plug in cams cables and press record...

I have an 8mm high digital camcorder tape which got tangled in the camcorder. when i wound the tape back in the case and returned it to the camcorder it would only play a high pitched sound with no...

I've had to fix this problem several times. You need to open the 8mm cassette, and manually rewind to where the tape got twisted around. Then untwist it, and manually wind the tape back on the reels. and then put the cassette back together. If the tape isn't torn you should be fine. There might be creases in the tape- but they will only give you a slight picture glitch or drop out. You need to run a head cleaning tape through your camcorder before you try taping again. It might hose up the next tape if you don't.

Will not close while tape is in ejecter, alarm beeps and screen says (remove cassete), but will however close without tape??? canon mv830i digital camcorder...

Several things could be happening...the tape is backwards, upside down, inverted or just wrong type since it closes without it. Next check to see on the inside if something is jamming the tape. While it closes without a tape there could be something that jams when a tape is inserted.

Picture blurry or out of focus.

Make sure your subject is within the camera's range. You should be at least 31 inches away to take a picture without the flash, and 31 inches to 8 feet away to take a picture with the flash. You can take a picture as close as 8 inches in macro mode. When you take macro close- ups, make sure you have adequate lighting (with the flash disabled). Using a tripod will help you capture sharp pictures. Make sure you hold the camera steady after you press the shutter button (until the red light starts to flash), and your subject isn't moving. If you are shaking the camera when you lock the focus, a warning icon appears in the right corner of the LCD. If you want to photograph a moving subject, you can change the shutter speed while the camera is connected to your computer. Try increasing the shutter speed. For more information, see Chapter 6. Make sure your flash is not set to flash off. When you focus on a nearby object, your picture's background may appear blurry. Try changing your focus.
