X2Gen 17" LCD Monitor Shuts Off

Hello I have a X2Gen 17" LCD Monitor that i bought from newegg over a year ago. The monitor would come on for about 5 minutes then shut off. if I unplug it, it will come on again then shut off. I was wondering if there is a fix for this, maybe my settings, or if it might be the power adapter that came with it.

Thanks in advance

Hello there the problem requires some electronics knowledge, and that involve trouble shooting the electronic components, is not your settings or your power cable.

    Thanks

It might be the power adapter. How long has this been going on? Have you emailed Newegg to see if they would replace it for you ? did you buy the extended warranty? It might also be your power cable. The worse case could be that something in the printed circuit board failed. I would say you have a few choices 1) computer store - have them check the monitor 2) Email NEWEGG and see if they will replace it 3) repair/replace the monitor

Can you please supply more information? If this is a 17" CRT Monitor, it is not worth the money to fix it. You can buy a nice 17" LCD or LED monitor pretty cheap.

3 years old and generally rated as a Mediocre monitor to begin with, I'd say I'd invest in a new monitor

The monitor costs about 100 bucks. The company is bankrupt. Chuck it and buy another.

Beware this monitor! PL713s

Probably a good solution. 17" LCD's are pretty inexpensive these days and probably cost as much to diagnose and fix this one. You can purchase on-line as well. www.tigerdirect.com www.newegg.com Good luck
