Question about Panasonic Home Theater System System

1 Answer

I'm trying to get the xbox working through the home theatre system but I'm still getting the sound from the TV which has intergrated freeview. The Xbox is connected to the TV using an HDMI cable, the home theatre system is connected to the television via an aux. I don't have an opitcal connection on the TV.

You need to hook up the xbox' audio cables to the home theatre systems AUX in port and then have your system set on AUX, and you can leave your xbox' hdmi plugged into the tv, just be sure your on the correct AV chanel.

Try running the audio from each video source (NOT the TV, which is an output, not a source) to the HTR digitally so you'll get the best mutichannel sound possible. Then you can turn the TV speakers (assuming it has them) off for hi-end watching.

Can't get XBOX 360 to have audio through surround sound speaker

Make sure that you have the RC Cables (red and white) plugged into the audio ports that coincides with the component video inputs. If that wont work then try plugging the audio and video cables into the inputs for the satellite, since that works. That way you can isolate the issue. If it still wont work try using the XBOX 360 HDMI cable. That has both audio and video.

Philips HTS w/a hammer!
I had better sound from TV alone! Only 2 speakers put out sound from TV. Recordings from DVR can not be heard very well w/all volumes at max. System sucks! You get what you pay for! $2500 LCD TV sounds worse w/Philips HTS than my son's $300 TV! ALL cables hooked up as instucted!!!!

Please help with getting 5.1 sound from my TV!

You must run a Digital Optical cable from your PS3 to your reciever. Then press your function button on your recievers remote until you see SAT/CABLE on your recievers display. Next go to your PS3 settings and go to Sound settings, then Audio Output settings, and select Digital out (OPTICAL) then your done. This is the only way to get true digital sound from your PS3 to your reciever.
