Yaesu 857D very poor audio out on SSB.

Dbl check your swr in am mode.. Ch your ssb power and mic gain default is 50 on both on hf .. If you use the mh-59 you will need to reduce the mic gain to 35 and it needs to be set for remote mic in the menu. Also the ssb needs to be set 2.5k wide with the ssb carrier zeroed both tx and rx

This works for the Furuno 1501-Make sure your connections are the same:#1 provide 15V & gnd to tuner(12V works) #2 connect coax between tuner & Xmtr / antenna to tuner #3 set radio to transmit CW carrier @ no more than 10W #4 momentarily short tune to gnd, this will initiate tune process. Watch SWR meter/ listen for tuner to complete, stop 10W carrier & return radio to normal status. I use mine remotely mounted with a 3 wire control cord & a box with a push button momentary switch back at the radio. Connections are 12V & gnd from the power supply to tuner, tune back to control box where the button shorts it to ground to tune.

Week transmission it only 25watt

Did you calibrate the power meter? You may be putting out 100w.

I thought the 1530 was a 150 watt radio...

If your antenna connections are corroded, loose, or whatever ... that will show up in yoyr standing wave ratio & cut your power way down...

Hope this helps..

Oh, yeah ... you didn't use an ... amp, did you?

Bands covered by Furuno FS-1502

It doesn't appear to cover the ham bands, only maritime. This radio is also not type approved for operation on ham bands either.

You can find the freq. range in the manual at the link below:

Nice Radio though.

Wally,

No it does not have an internal antenna tuner. I presently own one and purchased it used. It covers all the marine bands. For more info on marine bands, do a search on the internet.

Howdy John;

You might try going online to Ham radio outlet, they carry just about everything for ham radio. your telex kit may not be made any longer but you might be able to use a Terminal Node Controller in its place. Kantronics makes one of the best TNC's around.
