You should check if you could adjust the screen size or posistion. If that don't work try using another (newer) HDMI cable. If everything feals go back to your store and claim a new tv. Then it is the hardware inside the tv, you will have warrenty on that.

Sony tv no picture on screen

Hello, You probably hit the input button by mistake. If your using cable TV your input setting will depend on how the TV is connected. If your using an HDMI cable check to see what number HDMI the cable is plugging into on the back of your tv and then set the input button to the same port number. If your tv is connected with RCA cables (red, blue, green) Then hit the input to AV.

When I switch my tv to the HDMI input it appears to be normal for a few seconds but the screen stays black and I get a thin pink line running horizontally across the bottom right corner of the screen then...

You did not mention what you are connecting with HDMI but I have had problems with my PS3 and it is copy protection related. On a PS3, you have to connect it to HDMI1 otherwise some BlurRay movies will not play.
You might have a bad HDMI cable. I have heard the quality of cable does not matter these days but I still have had issues with the really cheap cables. I still do not buy the really expensive HDMI cables though.

Hook it up to the tv

If your hooking it directly to the tv depending on how old the tv is use one of the inputs. Hook the two red and white to red and white and the yellow to the video in input. If it's an older tv you will need whats called an rhf adapter. Hook your color codes together and use a cable cord to go from the antenna out to the tv's uhf input. I hope this information was helpful........... : )

Just a guess. Try to get hold of a different cable box & see if you have the same problem. If so, problem is with cable box.

I have a Pansonic TH-C42HD18 Plasma TV. It works fine when I play DVDs (through HDMI connection) and as well as you would expect watching VHS tapes through a composite connection. However, when watching...

You say you have switched AV cables. Have you tried switching input sockets as well? In other words, have you tried using the HDMI socket you normally use for DVD for the cable box input to watch TV? If so, does the problem stay with that input device or does the problem stay with the socket?
Also you say it doesn't matter "whether the cable is connected at all," but I'm not sure whether you mean the cable company cable or the (presumably) HDMI cable connecting the cable box to the TV. Can you clarify?

Green line down left side and geen snow

Horizontal or vertical bars on the screen could be from an ac line interference, adjacent magnetic field, bad input wire connections.....especially HDMI connector cables. A bad HDMI cable causes all kinds of unwanted picture interference. Check the conditon of all connection wires for proper fit and function. Keep in mind the method in which you connect your tv will result how the tv performs. As well this line problem could be a circuit issue too, requiring a technician to look at it.
