Merging data from 2 files into one

I have a corp file with all data about my two restaurants for up to January 1st 2007. Now each location created and entered their sales and data from January 2007 up to Current in a separate file created in each location.
How can I bring these files into my HQ and merge them into my master corp file without having to type every Journal Entry?

QuickBooks data files cannot be merged. This is because of the linkages involved. One solution would be to enter the journal entries manually.
Another option may be to switch to the Enterprise version. You would still have seperate files, but the data from two files can be merged in a report.

When opening Outlook I receive the following message, this occurred after I tried to email a photo out of a photo program: "A data file did not close properly the last time it was used and is being...

1. In Outlook 2007, click the Tools menu and select Options.
2. In the Options dialog box, click the Mail Setup tab and then click the Data Files button.
3. In the Account settings window, you will see all of your personal Outlook data files listed. Here, you want to note the full path to each data file. On my system, my Outlook personal and archive folders are stored in the C:\Documents and Settings\Your Username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook folder.
4. Once you have this information, close the Account Settings dialog box and then close the Outlook Options window.

Now that you have the location of your Outlook data files, you need to check and repair them using the Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 Inbox Repair Tool-SCANPST.exe. By default, you should see SCANPST.exe in the Microsoft Office installation folder's "Office 12" subfolder. On my system, SCANPST.exe is located in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office 12. For additional information on SCANPST.exe, take a look at the Microsoft Knowledge Base article, "How to use the Inbox Repair Tools to recover e-mail messages in Outlook 2002 and Outlook 2003."

To check and repair your Outlook data files, follow these steps:

1. First, close Outlook 2007.
2. Use Windows Explorer to browse to SCANPST.exe, then double-click it.
3. When the Outlook 2007 Inbox Repair Tool opens, click Browse and navigate to the Outlook data file location that you found earlier. Note that you will need to check each file listed. On my system, I start with the file archive.pst. To check that file, you would select it in the "Select File to Scan" dialog box and then click Open.
4. Now click Start to begin the repair process.

How to Merge Multiple Outlook PST files into single one?

With the extended usage of Microsoft Outlook, the number of PST file may increase enormously. Lead to unmanageability problem and in such situation of mishandling, may result in Outlook files corruption or inaccessibility of PST file. Therefore, this calls for the merging of PST file into a common file to handle them smoothly.

To merge multiple PST files into a single PST file manually with Outlook:

First, open the PST files within your Outlook. In every version of Outlook, you are allowed to open the additional PST files. For Outlook 2007, you need to navigate through File menu > Open > Outlook Data File. After that browse to the PST file location and open the file in the system, select it and click OK. For merging your files you must repeat this for multiple PST files and move the Outlook content between PST files by either dragging and dropping them or by highlighting the content, right-clicking it, and selecting Move To from the context menu. Then navigate to the destination folder, and click OK. By this process, the content will be moved to the destination folder and removed from the source one. If your PST is large, say more than 1GB of data, then I recommend segmenting the files into two or more smaller parts and then move them in parts.

This task may get tedious if you have plenty of PSTs and a lot of content. Then the third-party applications can help you complete your task in an easy and secure way.
PST Merge Software can also provide you with the useful feature that could help you maintain you PSTs in Outlook.

Trying to download microsoft office 2007 from my CD, Kindly assist with this error: "Setup could not find any available products to install. Please Contact your system administrator"

1. Use Start=>Programs=>Accessories=>Disk Cleanup
clear your Internet files and temp files.

2. Locate your 2007 Office Professional Beta 2
download file and note the folder/path location.

3. Create a new folder on your PC and note that
folder/path location.

4. Use Start=>Run , and on a single line type in
the following (using the path & file names from Step 2 & 3)
and leaving out the brackets

"drive:\Step2PathOfDownload\downloadfilename.exe" /extract:"Step3path"

example: (assuming you saved to a 'downloads' folder and created a new folder named Off2007ProB2CD1) the Start=>Run line would look
like this

"c:\downloads\OPPLUS-EN.EXE" /extract:"C:\Off2007ProB2CD1"

If the extraction is successful (you'll get a dialog box telling you it was after a few minutes) then

a. Backup your files and shutdown all other running apps and utilities including antivirus.
b. Run setup from your new 2007 Office system folder you
created in the previous steps

Else, if the extraction doesn't succeed then the download may be damaged/corrupted.
Use Start=>Run and type
%temp%
and locate the Setup-xxxxx.log
(file) just created and see if it has any clues on where the extraction failed.

Please post results and leave rating if you found this to be of help.
Thanks! Good luck and let me know if you need further assistance.

An OST file is an Offline file, allowing you to use Outlook even when you can't contact an Exchange server. This will frequently occur when setting up Office 2007 using default settings.

If you are attempting to configure Outlook to manage a non-Exchange POP account follow the instructions here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/287532. (see Method 1).
