Hi,

If a program is failing and you want to disable DEP to see if that is the cause. Here are the steps. (Just disable DEP for the program in question… don’t disable it for your whole system.)

1. Click Start
2. Select Control Panel
3. Select System
4. Click the Advanced tab
5. In the Performance region select Settings
6. Click the Data Execute tab in the dialog box that opens
7. Select Turn on DEP for all programs and services except for those I select
8. Click Add.
9. The open dialog box will open. Browse and select your application.
10. Click Open
11. Click Apply
12. Click Ok
13. Reboot

Hope this helps :)

    Hi again,

In the DEP part, you turn on all DEP apart from what you are specifying. Now, you don't look for the controller, you look for the emulator you are using such as ePSXe or the game or whatever, and then make sure you run the emulator or the game as administrator. The point of this is so that the controller can now be configured/calibrated from within the emulator or game, when it could not be before. This is a thing to try after you have realised that it is not possible to calibrate the controller using the emulator/game.

    Let's start from the beginning:

So you plugged in the controller. And downloaded and installed the drivers for it, restarted, and it then read the USB device and now appears in device manager? and says Device is working properly?
So then you would have wanted to Calibrate the controller, and would have gone to Control Panel > Game Controllers > Double Click the Controller > Calibrate.
After doing this, does the gamepad respond when you launch a game?
If yes, then all is good. Enjoy.
If not, then you would then open ePSXe (or whatever emulator), go to config, then gamepad and try to configure the
controller there. If you can, then all is good. Enjoy.
But if it still doesnt respond when you try to set the buttons, then we have to work out whether the problem is with the emulator or with the controller. And this is why we would turn off Data Execution Prevention for the emulator.
Because we would then attempt to calibrate the controller and play a game again, and if the controller still didn't work, then there is no problem with the emulator, but with the controller.
In which case it probably means the controllers usb drivers haven't been installed properly, or they were drivers for the wrong controller, or something like that.
So, you are basically working out if DEP is the cause of the emulator not working, to isolate if that is the root cause of why you can't calibrate your controller.. you see?
I know it's a pain to get your head round, and it's also difficult to explain clearly without getting lost in all the jargon, but just do each step at a time and I'm sure you'll get there in the end.

    Good Luck :)

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Gigaware no sound

If you have audio cables from your source connected to the capture card, then your Recording device needs to be the Line In of the capture card.

If you connect the source to the Line In on the computer, then you use that as the default recording device. Until I set this, the default audio recording device was my microphone (not connected at the time). In Windows, you need the Manage Audio Devices Recording tab. (In Windows 7 and 8, it's under Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound > Manage Audio Devices.)

If you are recording something playing on your computer, then the stereo mix option may work.

You should be able to use any video&audio software if the drivers are compatible. Thus the software you used for the video recording should work. (Stereo mix may be an exception - not all sound cards actually work when you try to record that content.)

I hope this helps.

Xitel Inport De luxe with window 7

The directions for using the Xitel Inport Deluxe under Win7 are the same as those for using the device with Vista. The drivers are built into the OS. You will need to set the audio input to the Xitel device. For most installs of Windows 7 (Aero capable), with the Inport Deluxe plugged into a USB port on the computer, click Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound. Under the Sound listing, click on Manage Audio Devices. In the Recording tab, right click on Microphone Input and select Disable. Right click on the Line INport and select Enable. Right click again on Line INPort and make this the default device. Click on the Playback tab and right click on Speakers INport and select Disable.
If Aero isn't available, it's Control Panel > Sound.

You can use any recording software that runs under your version of Windows 7. The LP Recorder software manual starts on page 8 of the Xitel Inport Deluxe manual. If you do not have the original disc, LP Recorder is available here: http://www.cfbsoftware.com/lprecorder/lprecorder.aspx . (Audacity, http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ , works much the same way as LP Recorder. However the drop down menus for the source and output are available from the main program with the default toolbars enabled.)

I hope this helps.
