We keep getting paper jams. I'll clear the paper jam and it will jam again. What else can I do?

Then there is something stuck in the paper feed path which is holding up the sensor flag making it think there is paper in it.
Or maybe the sensor flag has been broken off by yanking paper out the wrong way when it gets stuck.
Get your vacuum cleaner and stick the hose down the paper feed path and see if it suck out a push pin, piece of paper paper, fur ball, eraser, coin, toe nail, false eye lash etc (all of which I have removed from machines with "paper jams")

I have the same exact problem of paper half torn removed but I can not see the other half anywhere. The printer has hardly worked for at the most six pages and now showing paper jam error. How do I fix it?
SOURCE: Epson AcuLaser CX11N ADF Paper Jam
I had a very similar problem with the ADF, it resulted in ADF paper jam - message and then in Req Code 2011.
I checked sensors and everything else, then called a epson service professional.
After telling him the Req Code, he knew the problem and said that the problem is the board, which needs to be exchanged, mentioning that this spare part is expensive.
I then checked the whole ADF again, now opening the long grey cover on the backside, I disonnected the connector cable from both sides and - using a multimeter - checked this connector cable for breaks.
Result: the violet cable was broken, so I soldered in a new wire, using the last cm of (old) wire on each side - and now the ADF works fine.
This cable is easy to change if you get the spare part, there is a connector plug on each side, on the ADF side is an additional ground wire (green) fixed with a single screw. Thats it !
For the electronic experts: the configuration of the connector:
sourrounding metal cover = ground, thick green Wire on the ADF side
If you turn the plug that way, that the two single contacts are on top, these are the colours:
1st row: brown - black
2nd row: green - yellow - orange - red
3rd row: grey - violet - blue
Hope this helps
SOURCE: Epson Stylus 580rx won't identify vellum paper
Ran into the same problem. The problem is that the printer's paper sensor sees through the vellum and therefore doesn't think any paper moved into the print position. To use vellum, fold up 1/4" edge on a standard peice of print paper and place the leading edge of the vellum under the flap. Place the paper and vellum into the printer and print. The printer will pull in the paper and the vellum together. Make the paper fold tight and straight to prevent jamming. You will need to feed one sheet at a time. Also the Epson inks take a long time to dry on vellum. I let mine dry overnight.

If this message appears when you turn the printer on it will need a repair, this will be down to a sensor fault.
If this message appears when you try to print Check you are using the correct paper type and size settings, on the printer if being used standalone or via the printer driver if using via a computer.
Also try using a different paper type and brand ideally Epson paper as it is an Epson printer. If the fault continues the printer will need a service.
As this printer was released this year you should be covered by some form of warranty, contact Epson for a service.
