My 2003 E500 sport has a peculiar problem, the front air conditioning vents blow cold air while the rear vents blow hot air even went the control is set to max cool in auto mode. is there a place i can correct this in the setting and how please? thank you.
It sounds like your rear temp. blend door is malfunctioning. You might could get a known good controller from (ebay, junkyard, craigslist) then plug it in. If this does not fix, it is probably a blend door actuator issue.

Driver/passenger air vents blow hot then cold when using A/C. Back to cold when you restart the vehicle. Upvote (35) ... 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe ... I have a 02 Tahoe ,and the heat system is working only on the ceiling side of the car when turn.
With the car parked and engine idling, turn the ventilation control between windshield defroster and "open air ducts" to front and rear vents. Listen to pinpoint where the valves are that open and closes the air ducts. It sounds like the air duct to rear vents are blocked, and the cold air in rear air duct is coming from "outside ventilation." The air vent to allow hot air to the rear vent is stuck in "open ventilation" mode, like when you're driving in spring or summer months.
This model has a rear heat/cold blend door actuator. Its an electric motor that moves the duct door from hot to cold. When they wear out, they're usually stuck on the last setting
possible blend door actuator faulty, or a faulty blend door. This door switches from hot to cold vents. On expeditions equipped with rear AC front and rear AC have seperate actuators. Hopefully this helps!!
I suggest that you take the Vehicle to a Reputable A/c Repairer, NOT a Muppet Shop, as I call them occassionally.
Request a CHECK and ADVISE ONLY. on the system. This will determine the exact fault[s] in the system.
From you comments, I would expect to find a Reducing Freon flow, through a probable Expansion valve failing.
Then you can decide, if on nearing the end of the HOT period, having the Diagnostic done, is the expense justified now, or can it wait until later.
