Question about Epson Stylus CX7800 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Epson stylus cx7800

I just changed the ink cartridges in my printer. And the ink charged and everything. And now it says its ready to print. But when I try to print something, a pop up shows up and displays the document name of what I want to print, the paper size, whether it is processing or not, the progress, and what time it started printing. But it never begins to print my document. I tried restarting my computer, turning the printer on and off, and unplugging the printer. Please help me.

In some printer drivers you have to use the their software to inform that you have fitted new cartridges in a form of installation wizard, so assuming you have done that the power aready light on printer should be steady. If not there will be a hardware or software fault, so to determine:- Disconnect printer from usb port and mains Go to printer and faxes in control panel, find the Epson printer icon and right click and delete. Restart pc and reconnect printer to a different usb port if possible, this should then be recognised by windows and either automatically install the driver or ask for your cd rom with driver on. The other way is to install the driver first and then reconnect printer when prompted it depends on model. If still no printing, then there is a problem with the printer itself, which can by an expensive repair, unless you purchase a new one which may be cheaper. I don't know what it is with Epson, i have had two and both after a few cartridge replacements have either refused to print or unable to use all the color cartridges.

Changing the ink cartridges?

I have an epson (2 of them). I have to raise the lid and then hold in on the color button for about 6 seconds. Yours should work similar to mine.

How do you change the black cartridge in the printer epson stylus nx115

Here is the Link showing instructions below. If you find this helpful, pls rate me.

Replace Ink Cartridges
Your Epson Stylus NX110 Series and its software will let you know when an ink cartridge is low or expended.
If ink is low, the ink light flashes. You can continue printing until a cartridge needs replacement.
If a cartridge is expended, the ink light stays on. You must replace the cartridge to be able to print.

Keep ink cartridges out of the reach of children and do not drink the ink.
If you need to change a cartridge before it or any other cartridges are low or expended, run the Ink Cartridge Replacement utility.

You cannot print or copy when an ink cartridge is expended even if the other cartridges are not expended. Replace any expended cartridges before printing or copying.

Leave your old cartridges in the Epson Stylus NX110 Series until you are ready to
replace them to prevent the print head nozzles from drying out.
When an installed ink cartridge is more than six months old, you may need to replace it if your printouts do not look their best, even after cleaning and aligning the print head.
Follow the instructions in these sections to check and replace your ink cartridges:
Check Cartridge Status
Purchase Epson Cartridges
Replace Cartridges Using a Printer Software Utility
Remove and Install Cartridges

pls rate me. Thanks and Good Luck...

Lcd screen says no ink but they are full/new

You might have to pull out your cartridge/s and try dabbing the spot where the ink comes out (on the printer - not on the cartridge) lightly - with a Q-tip dipped in isopropyl alcohol.
How long ago was it since you last used your printer? These types of printers don't like to sit for more than a week or two without you printing at least one page on them.

How do i change cartridges in epson stylus sx205?

The SX205 is a bit of a pain to use. There doesn't seem to be a way of changing an ink cartridge unless the printer decides it wants to let you. I managed it by employing fairly brutal tactics. I opened the lid to expose the works, switched the printer on, and with my finger over the switch at the mains socket I waited while the printer went through its start-up procedure, then when the ink carrier was in the right position to make a change, I quickly switched the power off. You have to be really quick to catch it in the right position, and you might need to try more than once to get it right. After changing the cartridge, I switched the mains back on, then switched the printer back on, and everything worked OK after that. It seems crazy that Epson hasn't incorporated a way of doing this into the design. Its certainly the worst Epson printer I have owned from the point of view of ease of use. Photos from it aren't very good either. Dinty

When i print i have lots of lines in the pics!!

These lines are caused by the printheads being clogged. I recommend trying to clean them with rubbing alcohol. Epson printers have a habit of the heads drying out.

As a last resort.... you could pull the cartridges and place a drop or 2 of alcohol into the holes where the cartridges connect to the printheads. Don't put the alcohol in the cartridge themselves as this will dilure the ink.

My ink cartridges are full but the CX7800 says thay are empty.

To check if the waste pad is the culprit you would normally get an error message from the status monitor software or on the printer itself telling you that a service was required or parts have reached the end of their service life.

If that's true you can further confirm it by resetting the waste ink counter using a reset utility.

If you're in North America and have the serial number (usually printed on a label on the back) you can go to this site:

... and fill out the form (making sure you read the warnings and small print) and request the utility for your model.

If you're OUTSIDE of North America then the SSC utility will also work (google: "ssc epson reset") using the protection counter functions.

At this point, because I don't know that particular model personally I couldn't say with any certainty that the problem is the waste ink pads but it can't hurt to try.

Hope this helps.

Epson Stylus CX7800 doesn't recognize new cartridges

I'm not familiar with your model but Epson has used a very durable ceramic printhead that had a fatal flaw; it wants to be used often, otherwise it clogs beyond restoration.

I have had to junk a number of Epsons (and some rebranded ones too) because of clogged printheads.
They work fine for a long time IF used daily.

The record was one branded Texas Instruments which died after not being used for 2 WEEKS.

I customarily recommended them for hard use but not for home users.
