RCA PROBLEMS We have had our rca for about 5 years. After the tv is on for a few minutes I hear a loud sparking sound and the picture goes off and comes right back on and it just repeats this cycle. Can anyone help me with some ideas on how to fix this problem?

Two common problems with RCA TV's. It sounds like your flyback is going on you. There is probably a hole and it is arcing off a cap/ or something. You can order a new one or you can try and find where it is arcing by taking the back and looking at it in the dark to see where the arc is coming from. If you can find it try using a plastic epoxy to fill the hole

RCA DLP tv, the picture goes blank after a few minutes, and then comes back on and goes back off again...

Take it back to the store. If warrenty is expired then you will have to get a new TV or send it for repair . I don't know of anyone that comes to your home for TV repair. Sounds like picture tube is out of it.

Rca truflat tv goes blank after 30 minutes, then I can't get a

When this goes off is there a loud crack? If so perhaps the B+ supply is increasing increasing the the EHT to the CRT and the crack is the voltage across the spark gap in the crt base jumping to chassis/earth shutting down the TV. Or perhaps just a dusty/dirty eht cap, again EHT discharge, or could be a eht tripler being faulty. Further investigation with the aid of a service manual is required I am afraid.

Problem with RCA TV Model 27F634T

You almost certainly have a bad picture tube. The green screen was from one of the elements inside shorting out. The static sound you're hearing is the high voltage arcing out through the end of the picture tube to other parts inside the set. It's more economical to buy a new TV than to repair this one.

Sorry to have such good news, but this is one of the ways a picture tube can go bad, and it happens quite often.

RCA TV, model number 32V550T. No picture but sound is fine.

this sometimes is quite simple to fix as it cud be a dry joint on the circuit board where the tube motor sits.

or it cud be the tube is on its way out, which wud be cheaper to buy a new tv rather than have it fixed

You apparently have a high voltage arc. Possibly the anode lead to your picture tube. Also the flyback transformer could be arcing. If you're not experience with tv repair, you need to have a tech check it for you. The circuits operate at very high voltage and if you get into it you can get a possibly fatal electrical shock. Be careful !!! Stargazer

Loose Picture (Goes completely Black)

Nothing special about that board as I cant seem to find that # but If my memory serves me correctly it sounds like a crt board and its a simple soldering job on the crt socket?? Altough Im not there to see the set still 550.00 seems like an awfull lot to repair a set even if they have to replace the entire chassis. I think you should cal rca and take it to an authorized RCA repair center and if the shop you took it to was an rca authorized center I would also report that to them(RCA). Good Luck
