Does your sound work? If so there is a button on your keypad that allows you to toggle your screen source back and fourth between Projector/monitor and laptop. The icon looks like a monitor and usually you will have to hit your "FN" (Function) key along with pressing the monitor key. On most laptops it is F8 - so you will need to press and hold the FN key and press the F8 (or key with the picture of the monitor) and toggle through until you get your screen back.

Good Luck and feel free to rate me..

Happy Holidays..

I have IBM P3 and i want to change win xp but its not booting pliz help me and it doen't give me option of booting

Turn the computer on. Keep your eyes glued to the bottom of the monitor screen. This usually comes by fast, so keep your eyes peeled.

When the computer manufacturer logo screen comes up, look for the -> enter CMOS Setup, or enter BIOS Setup, <- key to press.

Write it down.
If Windows loads on your computer, allow it to load, and run for a few minutes.
Turn the computer off normally.
WAIT 20 seconds, or so; then turn the computer back on.

AS SOON AS you press the Power On button, start tapping on the enter BIOS Setup key. (Or enter CMOS key)
Tap in 2 second intervals.

If you hear beeps ignore them. They are Stuck Key Error Code beeps, and it is you that is doing it.

Once you get into BIOS. look for Boot Options.
In Boot Options set the first boot device to CDROM.

REMEMBER, you have to Save Changes, or it will be like you have done nothing at all.

My ibm intellistation z pro: nothing appears on the screen no ibm sign at start up no nothing also if i try to open the disk drive it won't open which seems weird

maybe a disc stuck in the drive? if you pull down outter door of disc drive (unless you can see the front of the disc tray already) there is a tiny hole on front of disc tray, large enough to get a paper clip wire into, that will release the tray and pop it open

I have got some problem with my IBM lenovo laptop and its model name is 0769..its power is ON ,but its not working and a blank screen comes? please help me

I have a solution but i dont't think your going to like it.
One of the most common problems with these computers is that if the hard drive goes, then this is what they do, they sit and do nothing, power comes on and then it sits there and does nothing, no beeps, no warning lights, nothing.
Not sure where you are in the world but if you can another hard drive to test with, just pull yours out and install somebody else for testing, Make sure it's another ibm product. If you do this and the other drive boots your computer then you know for sure that your hard drive was at fault.
Sorry. Hope this helps

The computer turns on but there is nothing coming on the screen, its not the video card because i just bought a new one to put in

Hi..

Besure that the video card you inserted are correctly inserted you need to check it first. You need also to installed the vieo card driver. If the sam things occurs you need to disassemble the unit . Try to remove the proccessor and clean it after that insert it again. Check all the power cord and cable wire if it is correctly install in their respective port.

Thanks for using fixya..

Ibm blank screen

If you still get nothing when you plug into an external monitor, then it sounds as if you have a bad video controller. Unfortunately, on most laptops, except fr high end gaming systems, this is built into the motherboard and cannot be replaced. You will have to replace the motherboard or buy a new laptop. However, one thing to test before you go to that extreme, it is also possible that your RAM has gone bad. You will have to replace the ram with known good stick/s and see if it boots.

Startup problem

try pressing F8 on start up and getting into the safe mode and highlight last known good configuration. If still no luck try this:- Only other solution is to remove right side panel of pc and locate the JBAT1 terminal and move jumper from pins 1-2 to pins 2-3 for a few seconds and back again. Turn on pc and then hopefully you can access the bios to set the time and date and save settings then re start.
