Have a Fujitsu 7010 lifebook laptop about 4 years old. Wireless WLAN/Atheros Client worked perfectly until a week ago when the wireless quit functioning and device doesn't show on device manager. I presume the WLAN card died?

Easy problem it may be it bad contact where the network car is attached, its just bellow the keyboard you have to unsrew many screws under it to open the plastiv and when youve gotn the plastic of, keyborad with the metal plate you should see a little card that looks like ram but have two smal wires going to it, thats the wlan cardi can imagine its a lot of dust there, blow the dust out and clean the conectors on the networkcard and also blow of the connecting **** or what we shoul call it of the mother board mount all the **** you had taken of like it was before you opened it and screw the plastic back on, then it should be ready to go.

That is a good possibility. And with a four year old laptop it is probably time to upgrade to newer and faster technology

I have problem with fujitsu s211o,it cant connect to internet by wifi, only land line,i checked at diver manage,i saw problem from atheros..i downlaoded and installed...but computer showed "found new...

Your S2110 uses an Atheros SuperAG Mini PCI wireless card, it's located underneath its keyboard. Assuming this card has worked before, then it'd probably failed. I'd remove it and reseat it first. But you first have to dig the keyboard out and it's a little tricky but someone else had posted the S2110's keyboard replacement procedure on-line and here's the link (you're not replacing the KB but you can follow these steps to get it out of the way):

http://www.insidemylaptop.com/replace-keyboard-fujitsu-lifebook-s2110-laptop/

If you've reseated the Atheros card and it's still doing the same deal, then it's likely bad and you can replace it. You can get the exact model of the Atheros card and see if you can find the exact same one on eBay (that'd be your best bet); or you can get some other card (such as a Dell-branded Intel 2200bg Mini-PCI Wireless Card, drivers can be downloaded directly from Intel's support site) if you have trouble finding an exact Atheros replacement. The cost of such a card should be $10 or less.

Of course, there are other alternatives, too, such as a USB wireless device or a PCMCIA wireless card, which are just plug and play. The problem with such alternatives is that they'll be more cumbersome since they protrude externally and stick out like sore thumbs - which can cause a whole new set of problems.

My preference would be to keep the wireless internal (use the Mini-PCI).

How to turn my notebook into a wireless router/vista

Hi,

I'm not sure if I understood your question correctly. If you mean how to turn on the wireless device on your laptop for it to connect to the internet wirelessly or to connect to your router, then just look for the physical wireless switch on your laptop. The WLAN on/off switch is located on the front panel of the Lifebook. It is at the right side of the headphone and microphone jacks.

Hope this helps.

Wireless

The right hand application button turns Wireless LAN on/off. The application buttons themselves do not require any drivers or software to work, they are pre-configured. Left button = email, middle = internet, right = WLAN hope this helps please vote thanks

Problem with charging my batteri in my fujitsu lifebook 7010

I can almost guarantee you without any qualm or hesitation the problem is the same common issue which plagued all 12 Fujitsu laptops I haive worked on so far this year. . . its a damaged a/c adapter jack... the component where the power adapter node connects to the laptop. This particular component is especially fragile in the life book computer anddoes not withstand and sharp or hard tugs or excess tension the power plug is apt to create in normal use. The component itself is cheap and can be easily ordered with prices within the $3.00 range. Unless you have a low-heat soldering iron, take it to a repair center. This issue has become so common, you should be able to find a repair center to repair the jack and get your computer back in business for around 100.00 or less.

Hope this answered your question and I was able to FIX-YA. I look forward to your feedback.

My Dell Inspiron B130 wireless connection

Still using same Router with same WLAN protocol?
Same Network driver?
Never Updated?
Wich standard you use? 802.11 B? G? A? N?
Update Router site and client (PC) sit.
Old protocols and driver are much more densitive to interference.
New router, Microwave, Cordless, Remotes can dramatically modify a previously perfect environment.
