Fault Message on Nikon camera

My Nikon D80 digital camera is giving me a fault R 11 and is not functioning. What does this mean? After taking one photo with the flash the battery light begins flashing even though it is all charged?

I just bought my D80. When I put the camera on "on" I get a flashing FEE in the right corerner of the top display. When pressing the "shot" button it only produces "r11" and nothing happens. What to do?

I have the same problem on my 18 month old camera.I sent it to Nikon who said it needed a new SB/IF Base plate which would cost £126.15 with labour. I am now taking it up with Purleygadgetswhere I purchased the camera after talking to the local trading standards

Does your lens have a diafragm ring, A ring with numbers on it like 22 16 11 8 5.6 3.5. Set this ring to the maximum. I hope this helps.

Hi, Also, try a factory reset found on page 129 of the manual. On the left side of the camera is the terminal cover, inside below the USB connector is the reset switch. If that does not work call Nikon digital 1-800-645-6689.

My camera wont let me look do anything it turns on and thats it.

If you turn off your flash you might get a picture or two more,The flash consumes probably 3/4 of the battery.I have Sony,HP,Fuji, and Cannon cameras, they walk thru batteries like they're free for the taking.

To solve this all you need to do is turn the lens' aperture ring (the one nearest the camera body) to the smallest number (probably 22 or 32).

How to fix -E- problem Nikon D80. Thanks

The -E- just means that there is no SD card in the camera. There is also a setting that prevents the camera from attempting to take a shot without a card, and I assume that represents your flash in the viewfinder.

Group Picture out of focus

For group photo happiness:

* Use the widest angle available on your zoom lens for group shots. Longer focal lengths make the depth-of-field problem worse. Step closer to the group to fill the frame.

* Use a moderate aperture, somewhere between f/5.6 and f/11. f-stops beyond f/11 can make more things appear to have the same amount of focus, but actual resolution drops due to diffraction.

* Arrange the group so that all the faces are at or near the same plane, and your camera is perpendicular to that plane. So, if P is a person, C is your camera, and - is just space,

----C----

and not

C--------

* Using fill-in flash can improve the look of outdoor portraits.

D80 shutter issue

contactjoni,
Your shutter will stick if it gets dirty or dust gets in the camera, a reputable camera shop can inspect the shutter, the sensor for dust & dirt and can clean it for you. If the battery is low while shooting the shutter can also stick on longer exposures.
