Your problem is not uncommon. The problem can be either mechanical or digital, it is difficult to tell.  If your product is under warranty it is best to take it in for service.  If not, you will need to open up the devise to pull our the dvd.   The question becomes, which is more imporant the dvd or the device.
Before you do anything else, make sure you try resetting the device by unplugging it from all power sources for several minutes and then plugging it back in to try again.

I have a sanyo dvd/vhs player and when you push the eject button to eject the dvd player it won't open. Help!

If you take off the top cover you might find that a drive belt that moves the tray is either off or broken. They are cheap to replace you just need to measure the diameter in MM and then enter "drive belt XXmm" into Google go for the nearest size to your measurement.

How do I get the DVD player to eject a DVD when it only wants to load when I press eject?

Likely something in the mechanism is out of position causing this. First thing I would do is open unit and watch to see what happens when you power it up--also look nothing is inside the unit that does not belong there.

Combo units almost never sell "parts" for the DVD part--only the complete unit (expensive if even available).

Won't play all regions I have a Sanyo DVD DX518

1. Leave eject tray open
2. Enter 1369 (default password) and screen will show XXXX
3. Enter 0 for multi-region or what ever region number you wish.

Note: if you take to long to enter code, X's will disappear, but still continue to enter rest of number.

Locked dvd tray.

To unlock, manually press and HOLD the open/close button & the stop button simultaneously, and HOLD them both down until the lock picture disappears.   The DVD will eject when you press the open/close button.

To lock the DVD inside the machine, repeat the same step, and it will lock it inside.
