Only displays white screen

Hi, My phone screen only displays a blank white screen when I switch it on. I can still call people by typing in numbers (which I can't see) and then press the green button, but nothing else. I have taken out the battery and tried again without any success. Any ideas of what might be wrong and what I can do? Thanks.

I had white, blank, flicker and fuzzy display errors. Usually happens when the phone is closed and then reopened. Discovered that swiping a fairly stong magnet at the back top right hand side solved my problem. Dont hold the magnet there for too long! The reason i tried this in the first place is that i found there is an electromagnetic switch that switches the displays on and off when opening and closing. The magnet is in the bottom right hand side of the display half of the phone and the switch is at the top right of the keypad side (for a V3i). My switch must have been a bit sticky and swiping the stronger magnet sorted this out. Good way to test is take battery out, open the display, return battery and power on then swipe the magnet.

Or you could simply have fried your battery and it doesn't have enough power to show the screen. That is a lot cheaper than an LCD so it's worth a shot. Here's an easy test Hold the # and * keys while you power on the phone if information appears you need a new battery. If nothing appears you need to check your connections and if it's still not fixed, you need a new keypad/flex cable. If the LCD were broken you wouldn't be able to see anything on it at all. It would always be black.

It's an LCD problem, take it to a shop near you or better yet, to the store where you got it. They can fix or replace the LCD for you for free if it is still covered under warranty.

Blank and white screen solution

Hi,there are two kinds of white screen in phone,
the first one is because of damage LCD (glass screen) ,
defective display driver (small chips that makes the display works)
and the other one is corrupted software...in damage lcd the phone will detected
by computer because its software is still working...so ,
the problem of your phone am sure is the second one ,
corrupted software....your phone needs to reprogram, and
need to go to the model of the phones care center to fix you problem...
And also flex can make screen go blank and or white.(if it is a flip phone)The flex is a connector that connects the screen to the phone board of the phone. That can also be the cause, when the flex is damaged,it can cause blank and white screen display .

i hope ,i will help you ,thanks for trusting fixya...

The display stopped working, Just a white blank screen. The phone still works but the screen does not. Can't see who is calling and can't retrieve pictures.

Hi,blank screen is usually caused by bad screen or flex depending on the type of phone you are using at the moment.
If the phone is a flex phone that means you will need to check both the screen and the flex.(flex makes the screen to display).
When you replace the screen, the phone display will be working again.

Have a nice day.

Blank white screen

Hi,

The blank white screen on your phone indicates that the screen on your phone is bad, hence there is no display whatsoever on the screen.

The solution is to replace the screen with a newly purchased screen,
Ensure you purchase the screen that is compatible with your phone.

Thanks and take care

Displaying white screen on switch no

Hello,

Try switch off and wait for some minutes, switch it on back, if it is still blank screen you are getting, then, the problem with your phone is that the screen of your phone is damaged.

All you need to do is just to get a brand new screen on your phone and you see that it will display back.

Please, go with the phone while going to change the screen in other to get a the exact screen and a working screen.

Also note that, if the phone is slide, it is the flex on the phone you will just change, not the whole screen.

Take care

Blank display

So if you have a blank display or just a white one, replacing the lcd screen should fix the problem.

See the link below for a guide on replacing the N70 lcd screen and links to buy a new one from ebay.

My Nokia N70 cell phone Screen is white blank

formating your phone may fix the problem

Here’s how to hard reset or format your Nokia N70 mobile phone:
1) Switch off your phone
2) Press and hold these 3 keys together:
-green dial key
-the star key(*)
-the number 3 key (Ugh, I wish I had three hands…!!)
3) Power on the phone
Warning: Do not release the keys until you see a formatting screen and even after the phone has started. Wait until the initial sound starts to play and the hand animation is displayed.

Before formating make sure that your battery is fully charged. Copy all your important contacts, messages, calender, etc in your memory card and your phone should be fully charged window.google_render_ad();
