Motorola RAZR V3 Cellular Phone
Problem for Motorola RAZR V3

Only displays white screen

Hi,

My phone screen only displays a blank white screen when I switch it on. I can still call people by typing in numbers (which I can't see) and then press the green button, but nothing else. I have taken out the battery and tried again without any success.

Any ideas of what might be wrong and what I can do?

Thanks.

Or you could simply have fried your battery and it doesn't have enough power to show the screen. That is a lot cheaper than an LCD so it's worth a shot. Here's an easy test Hold the # and * keys while you power on the phone if information appears you need a new battery. If nothing appears you need to check your connections and if it's still not fixed, you need a new keypad/flex cable. If the LCD were broken you wouldn't be able to see anything on it at all. It would always be black.

It's an LCD problem, take it to a shop near you or better yet, to the store where you got it. They can fix or replace the LCD for you for free if it is still covered under warranty.

I had white, blank, flicker and fuzzy display errors. Usually happens when the phone is closed and then reopened. Discovered that swiping a fairly stong magnet at the back top right hand side solved my problem. Dont hold the magnet there for too long! The reason i tried this in the first place is that i found there is an electromagnetic switch that switches the displays on and off when opening and closing. The magnet is in the bottom right hand side of the display half of the phone and the switch is at the top right of the keypad side (for a V3i). My switch must have been a bit sticky and swiping the stronger magnet sorted this out. Good way to test is take battery out, open the display, return battery and power on then swipe the magnet.
