This happens to me, too. It's not the TV, it's the DVR. I've tried unplugging and plugging back in. that works for a while, then it happens again. We've also been having some digitizing of the picture and sometimes the DVR will just start powering up in the middle of watching TV (live or recorded).

Blank screens can sometimes mean the same thing as snowy screen.
Sometimes you'll get a blank screen if you are tuned to a channel that you haven't subscribed to.
To make sure that the problem isn't a broadcast issue or that you are tuned to a channel you don't subsribe to, tune to channel 100 on your DTV receiver. If you do not see anything, then it is likely an input problem OR the receiver is not connected to your TV.
So first, check to see if any lights are lit up on your receiver. If they are not, check to see if it is connected to a power source and try pressing the POWER (or PWR) on your DTV remote.

NOTE**:WHEN USING YOUR REMOTE, MAKE SURE THAT THE SWITCH ON THE TOP OF THE REMOTE IS SET TO DTV, SATELLITE, OR SAT. IF THERE IS NO SWITCH, IT SHOULD HAVE A BUTTON THAT IS LABELED DTV, SATELLITE, OR SAT.

If it is still not working, check the cable connection running from the receiver to the TV. Make sure they are nice and tight. Also, check for damage to them.
If the problem persists, find the input button on your TELEVISION remote. Press the input button until you see a picture. Other devices (VCRs, DVD players, etc.) must be turned on if you have the receiver connected to a VCR or DVD player.
If you do not see a picture, try tuning to channel 3 or 4.
If you've still got a problem, call DTV.
It is most likely a problem with their receivers and NOT with your TV.

No sound or light on any channel may mean the TV is unplugged. Check you electrical connections. If the electrical connections are good, try disconnecting the cable from the television and tune to a local channel (CBC, CFTO, etc.). If you still have nothing, the TV is likely at fault.
