Question about Panasonic SV-AV50 Digital Camera

1 Answer

General malfunction I have this Panasonic SV-AV50 Digital Camera that suddenly malfunctioned. Image on LCD on record mode froze, later the LCD has no output but some of the icons are present. Buttons don't function at all, even the power switch. I cannot even view files on playback mode. Battery charging using the cradle also seemed to have a problem. I suspected the battery to be on the way out, but problem persisted even with a new battery. The camera is only over a year old and was not subjected to any abuse.

Difference between MPEG2 and MPEG4

To achieve MPEG2 video performance, large amounts of data must be written to the SD Memory Card in real time. The read and write speed of the SD Memory Card may differ from manufacturer to manufacturer, so we recommend using Panasonic SD Memory Cards with the high-speed transmission rate of 10MB per second (SD Memory Cards that are 256MB* or higher have a transmission rate of 10MB per second). * FINE Mode recording (High image quality 704 x 480 pixels) recording requires an SD Memory Card that is 256MB* or higher. * NORM Mode recording (Normal image quality 352 x 480 pixels) recording requires an SD Memory Card that is 32MB* or higher.

Play back and record

The SV-AV100 and the SV-AV50 come with an A/V cradle that allows you to connect to external devices for recording and playback. The SV-AS10 and SV-AV25 are not equipped for this operation.
