Question about Sony MegaStorage CDP-CX355 300-Disc CD Changer

Remotes Don't Work With It Anymore

Can't use a remote on this. I have two universal remotes that used to work with this player along with the factory remote. None of these work anymore. For some reason this unit is no longer accepting my remote commands. Any help here would be nice. BTW, Google spellcheck on the Google toolbar is sweet.

I have a kenwood rc-r0504 remote control. It is a multipurpose remote. How do I get it to control a Technics SL-PD887 CD changer?

Unfortunately, the RC-R0504 remote is not a universal remote. It can only control some Kenwood cassette decks and CD players, in addition to the receiver or other audio hardware that it came with. Since it wasn't programmed with codes for other device, there's no way to make it control a Technics CD changer.

I wish that I had better news for you. You'll need a different type of remote or to use both the Kenwood and Technics remotes.

Ken, the remote manufacturer can tell you if it is compatible with Wurlitzer,
a lot of time it is on the packaging of universal remotes.

Volume controls on the unit and the remote don't work ... the batteries on the remote are new ... the remote will turn the system on and off but will not operate the volume controls

Ok, sometimes some of the circuits on the circuit board of the remote itself malfunctions, thus some of the buttons will not work anymore.

I will suggest that you buy yourself a universal remote, it will be much cheaper than buying the origional remote that came with the unit directly from the manufacturer.

Just click on the link below and you will be directed to site where you can read some reviews and check out the prices on the corrosponding remotes.

Hope this can steer you in the right direction.

Kind regards

My 1 year old tdk nx6cd player is not working because the remote is stuffed, is there a universal remote that i can get or something else i can do to make it work? I really don't want to chuck it out, it...

Well, the problem with a universal remote is that it might not work on your player, different functions may be assigned to buttons, thus the best option will be to order the origional remote that came with the player from TDK at
or buy a universal remote.

I found a site where you can read reviews on remotes and prices.

Hope this can help you.

The remote does not work; the battery was replaced.

It's very rare that a remote control would just stop working, take out the new battery and look at the contacts. Are they slightly corroded or tarnished in some way? If so, use a small nail file or emery board to get them shiny. Try it again. If there is still a problem you need to find out if it still transmitting so, use a radio with AM or Medium Wave/Long Wave on it, press any button on the remote and tune through the band and you should hear it pulsing.
If there is no pulsing sound or the item it is for is not responding then you may have to replace the remote. Sometimes those cheap remotes with a book of codes can work the item in most cases. I have a Rotel CD player and have used such a remote to work it.
Hope this helps you and the best of luck.
