Question about Belkin F8T003 Bluetooth (F8T003V) Wireless Adapter

Wirless connection dropped during printing

I am using a sony XP laptop wireless linked to a BT router. I installed an HP photosmart 8750 printer , and connected wirelessly using an ethernet Belkin printer adaptor. I use it for A3 printing which it manages sometimes, but it can also commonly either produce printing atrefacts as lines across the print, or as annoying it will drop the connection during printing which is about 10 - 13 minutes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok this is going to have to be a trial and error solution, as there are too many variables with the various wireless devices We were just discussing that most of there wireless printer problems are HP driver related, having spent several hours on 3 HP's before getting them operational, some would print and not copy and vice-versa. Here is what worked on 3 out of 4. I have to assume that you are running more than the printer in wireless mode like a laptop, and that is working, not having issues. If that is the case, I would try this, go into the control panel, and then system and device manager, to hardware, first see if any of your hardware has a yellow mark, like an exclamation point next to it. Then if everything is installed and all of the components are showing up properly, I would try un- installing the printer. and then restarting the computer, it should pick up the machine as it did when you first installed it. Then it will ask for the driver disk, use the disk, unless there are newer drivers online for the printer, don't allow it to re install the driver on your hard drive, or we are just back to the same problem, I am thinking you have a corrupted driver file, once you reinstall the software, re boot one more time, and try it.If this works it will be a huge time benefit. It will be a real difficult diagnoses otherwise trying to see if all of the wireless components work. One more thing before you start, try hard wiring the printer to the router and see if you have the same problem, good luck and Merry Christmas

Hi there
Sounds like your loosing signal periodically, how far is the range on the belkin and are you printing within range? Signal boosters can resolve this although there could be interferance from another device whice is operating close to the wireless frequency or a bad grounding wire can also be to blame

kind regards

Could be interfernce from your neighbours wirless signals.
Somewhere in the wireless settings of the BT router, you can change the radio channel it is working on - I belive there are about 6 to choose from.
It doesnt actually matter which one the router operates on, but by default the router (and probably your neighbours' routers) is most likley set on the middle one and therefore interfering with each other.
So try changing to another channel and see if it makes any differnce. No joy ? Try another one.
After changing channel, the router will need to re-boot, but your PC will automatically search all channels and will re-connect once the router has finished re-booting.

It sounds to me like you simply don't have the HP driver installed on the Toshiba. Keep in mind that the basic HP installer is oriented around USB connections and often doesn't contain the driver needed for networked operation, which is an entirely separate (and sometimes incompatible) driver -- so make sure you install the right one.

unless this is a wireless enabled or lan RJ45 connectable printer you cannot, the pc that the printer is connected to must be on at the time of the printing.

Wireless printers have their own arial and allocated ip address, Lan RJ45 connective printers can be connected to the router.

You must have a network set up, and you must enable file and printer sharing on the desktop. The laptop and the desktop should be in the same workgroup. Some firewalls will cause this problem.
Start with the network setup wizard in Settings/Network.

Wireless printer

it sounds as if the printer may not be set as the default printer, so check in the installed printers and check and also check that the printer you are sending the print to is the setup one and not a pdf or microsoft office document printer, this is found on the drop down box when the print option appears. i am also assuming that the printer has worked before from vista to an xp machine as sometimes xp needs a small update to be used with a vista pc on the network
