You have the remote amplifier turn on wire hooked up wrong. The power antenna goes off when the radio does... so it will lose power when you put in a cd or go to aux.
install the blue wire labled AMP. or REM.
Problem solved.

it sounds like the USB connector on the face place of the radio has a cracked solder joint. i suggest taking it to a person that know how to solder small objects. your Kenwood has a one year manufacturer warranty it could be some thing to check in to.

I have been through the menu. i can't find a place to turn it on. the manual says it is a option by pressing the SRC button. All that shows is tuner and cd. Any help would be appreciated.

if this is a kenwood deck then by pressing the SRC will turn on the deck. tuner which would be radio and cd being cd player if the deck didn't turn on then it wouldn't show you any of that it would stay blank. for me to fully answer your help request I need to know the exact make and model of your deck. if there is no sound when you turn the deck on then try play with the volume as it may be turned down to 0 or 1 if there is still no sound then they didn't hook up your speakers to the deck. on the older kenwood decks there is a upside down triangle that is the SRC button on the newer decks it might be a rectangle button that says SRC. I hope i have answered your question, if so please vote and leave high marks. Thank you very much.

Do you have more than one output? Does the radio have its own amp (it will have cooling fins on the back)? If yes to the first Q, its fixable. Yes 2 the 2nd Q, its trash.

Driving along and radio stopped working, the word "ocer" came across face of radio. Now, radio and cd player both will not work. Help!

I pushed the reset button and "standby" mode appeared. I proceeded to hit the source button and switched to tuner and cd player with no problems.

Tuner works but when i play a cd it shows that it is playing but no sound comes out this cd player is brand new

Take it back for a refund or replacement, If you have speaker output on the tuner, their is no reason or why it shouldn't give you tunes when you insert a CD.

If the light on the amp is dimming when the bass hits it's usually a power related problem. It sounds to be that you don't have enough power going to the amp to drive the sub. It should stop if you reduce the volume at which you are playing the music. Yes?
How to solve this is to, increase the size of your power cables, add a power capacitor if needed & change the car battery to a higher capacity one.
The other option a little more professional, would be to fit a split charge system & a secondary battery to the boot/trunk of your car just to run your stereo system, with a power capacitor too. This will provide all the juice that your system requires so you can bang your head as long as you want :P

Kenwood receiver/sub problem

The amp's remote turn-on wire is probably connected to the blue wire coming from the back of the stereo - this is intended for a power antenna, which is why it only works when listening to the radio. Disconnect it from the blue wire and connect it to the blue/white wire coming from the back of the receiver and you should be good to go.
