Question about HP - HP Photosmart 8250 printer

Daughter left HP Photosmart 8250 idle for a year. Have just put in new ink, but paper will not load. How to service?

I have requested a refund because the operator did not recognize that he was in communication with another person (he'd tell me something and then ignore the fact that I was trying to do it). He also lacked a basic understanding of the difference between hardware and software (I had a printer feeder jam and he wanted me to re-install the driver on my computer)

I certainly hope you will keep your word and refund my money. I am impressed with the search engine optimization you've done to get my attention. I run a search engine marketing firm and hope I will not feel compelled to begin a blog about how I paid $20 for a "guru" and ended up with an "apprentice".

As far as my needs went: When I chatted with HP for free (after ending the chat with your person) they told me of a printer roller cleaning kit, which I ordered and which did the trick. I was trying to use sandpaper to do it, and that probably would have worked if someone could have talked me through disassembling the printer, which was what I was asking help for.

    Sincerely, Bram

I'am having the same problem, other than no one left it on. When i try to print picture or on just plain paper, the rollers are working and it tries to pick paper up but wont. So how do you disassemble this printer to get to all the rollers to clean? thank you tammi

After fighting with my 8250 for quit some time with cleaning the drive rollers, sandpapering rollers, putting sticky hairspray on rollers to grip paper and so on I decided to go radical. I cut a hole in the bottom with a Dremel and placed double sided tape on the rollers to grip the paper. Presto ! Now it works, I wouldn't recommend this to the faint of heart but I was about to throw a multi-hundred dollar in the trash while lit on fire. I was determined to make it work as I was on a quest for a solution. You probably can do this trick going throught the back of the printer but it will be tight. Shame on you HP for not testing your product, I doubt I have 50 sheets of paper run through this before it failed to perform.

Unplug the printer from the power and from the computer..
open the back door of the printer and check if both the rollers (inside the printer & on the door) are rolling (upwards)..if not then press & Hold the Power button for 60 seconds when unplugged from the power..
If the rollers still dont move..then u need to service the printer..
if rollers moves..then connect the power cable to the printer and directly to a wall jack (not to a power strip)..
power on the printer and load paper in the main tray..(ensure photo button is not lit up)..
photo button should be lit up in case u want to print photo and the paper is placed in the small phto tray which is exactly above the main tray...
place the paper to the xtreme right in the tray and slide the paper guide from left to right..
then try printing ..

My hp 8250 constantly does not feed paper. It tells me to load paper when the tray is full. Often times I have to push the paper toward the rollers with my finger to get the paper to catch and have it...

There is a plastic switch that detects paper. You will probably have to disassemble it to get to it. It could be dusty and jammed or broken or stuck. If it's broken, you might check to see how much a local shop will repair it for. Often, it's just better to buy a new one. Good luck.

Printing from Elements 6 w/ HP 8250, image pushed to left.

I wish I did have a solution. Photoshop Elements 7 exhibits the same problem. They obviously broke something. I have to use an old version of Photoshop Elements 4 just to print properly. I am a tech support professional, uninstalled all HP software, re-installed latest drivers and problem persists. Sucks.

Leaking black in from the bottom of the printer

actually your printer needs servicing but for temprory solution.take a bunch of tissue paper .keep the printer on and the printer cover open so the cartridge will be in the center.then with the tissue paper place it internally on the side from where its leaking.the sponge which collects the wastage ink is at present got full and now it does not have the capacity to soak the ink.so its leaking.as you will place the tissue papers the ink will be soaked by tissue paper and the sponge will again become bit dry to soak more ink.but its the temprory solution.to make it permanent get the printer serviced and sponge replaced.the problem is not all serious ,its common.every printer comes to this stage after certain usage.and the servicing is the solution.a local printer repair shop also does the servicing job .
hope this helps.
thanks.

Out of paper message when there is paper

This video is for the C7280, but the instructions are supposed to be true for the 8250. Usually that message when you have paper means that the rollers in the printer are slick and not picking up paper. The video shows how to fix that.

My printer isn't grabbing the photo paper

have you tried with normal paper..does it still do the same

when you load the paper does the roller sit on the paper at all...watch the roller....

but if your machine reports that there is no paper even though the roller is sitting on the paper

turn off your printer//remove the ink cartridge.....get a can of contact cleaner..with the nozzel on..throughy spray the roller area this is where the papper sensor is...

if this still doesnt help you will need to open the printer and check the sensor

keep me posted

Cheers
