from what I have read, the only way to fix this is to call Toshiba. Unless you can boot from a CD, in that case, go to the Toshiba homepage and download the BIOS update and make a bootable cd.

    I can't do either.

same problem, trying to fix for my friends son who is in hospital and forgot his PW due to all the meds.

The CMOS battery on this model is soldered to the motherboard so removing it is not nearly as easy as the last post makes it seem. Any other suggestions?

there is supposedly no battery to remove from the satellite line of computer. If yo call, they will let u know if they can repair ur system, supposedly for free

    dont email me...

just read this my idea for your laptop problem...

the back part of your laptop where your memory card goes to and then remove the memory card look for the word jopen1. you will see a metal letter U and letter T. Use a metal paper clip on the metal letter U and then put the other end of metal paper clip on any metal part of the main board for a few seconds. And then after that put everything back together and see if it works. From there you will be asked for a new password (any password that you would like to use), save and then restart.

note: there's a plastic piece on the metal letters U and T. don't pull it all the way off from it. Hope this will help.

Try removing the battery on the motherboard, that may do it wait a few minutes and it should clear the settings, I will look and see what else is specific to your notebook. Merry Christmas

System=intel Celeron D W3507 When I turn it on it goes straight to a black screen asking for a system password I've tried every password I know but I can't get in please help

If you don't see windows, then it's a BIOS password, and you would know if you set one. Unplug it and hit the power button, then touch metal, and pull the battery out for ten minutes. After you put the battery back in the motherboard, and plug it in you need to hit delete at start and enter the BIOS to set the time and date, then move over to exit and save changes.

I think the convenient and easy way is to use a windows password recovery tool that can do all the job for you within a few minutes automatically! Windows Password Recovery 6.0 is an easy-to-use tool designed for resetting local administrator and user passwords on any Windows system. If you have forgotten your password, or are locked out, or you do not have access to the password of the system.

I entered my administrator bios password wrong 3

there are a few different ways to resolve this issue
1. call the manufacturer and ask if they have a reset or a way to get the password

2.look in the manual and see if your laptop has a jumper setting that will reset the bio (including the password)

3 just go to the manufacturers website and get the latest bios update and flash the bios

4 remove the cmos battery leave it out for literally a week (7days) then replace it (best if the computer is off this entire time)- this way it forgets whats saved in the bios

Bios password lock

It is my understing that Windows XP was asking for a password and you chenge the one in the BIOS

Now the BIOS is asking for the password that you put when you say you resetted.

Please enter the password that you put in the BIOS and let me know if you are going to get a different screen other then the blue square with the picture of a key.

Best regards

BIOS password

Here is some stuff I found on the net: Some Toshiba laptop systems will bypass the BIOS password if the left shift key is held down during boot. Try using Toshiba or toshiba as the cmos password. (cmos passwords can be case sensitive) and this: ToneToshiba Notebook BIOS password backdoor 1 Here's some other helpful links: http://www.tech-faq.com/reset-bios-password.shtml http://www.freelabs.com/~whitis/security/backdoor.html http://www.pwcrack.com/bios.shtml Good luck!
