Question about MSI MS-1022 Notebook

1 Answer

Wont power-up with AC adapters, with or without Battery!

Hello, first sorry my poor english.

Me and my neighbor have this notebook MS-1022 (S425). We had the same problems.

Last day my battery was dead (failed to recharge, blinking orange). Then I remove the battery, I thought I could use AC adapters to supply power but after pressing the power button it still no respond, it won't turn ON. It won't power-up with AC adapter plugged in, with or without Battery!

I mean we can't use this notebook if the battery dead (every 12 month). I know, purchasing a new battery will solve this problem, but this time i don't have $95, my S425 still die.Now I just want turn it ON without Battery!

Any suggestions?

----

Semi solution from me:

I borrow a charged battery from my friends just to power-up this notebook, after ON, I plugged in the AC adapter, and then remove the battery while it's still ON. I can shutdown or restart without problem. But be careful, if the AC adapter cord replugged it won't power-up anymore, you must borrow a battery again from your friends.

Check yours! Check before Buy! Can you power-up without battery (AC adapter only)? If it's fail, dont buy!

Battery without AC, press power button = ON, then connect AC = CHARGING
Battery and AC, press power button = it won't turn ON
AC only, press power button = it won't turn ON

It wont charge therefore wont turn on if you can help me please do or give me an estimate price to fix it

Hi,

Im very sorry to hear that, please follow these simple steps for you to be able to isolate the exact problem.

1. Removed the battery.
2. Connect the laptop directly to the power outlet without using the battery just for the meantime.
3. Turn on the laptop. If the laptop is able to power on, that means that the AC adapter is working fine as well as the DC port. If the laptop is not able to turn on, it maybe the AC adapter itself or the DC port.
4. Try to use another AC adapter if possible, make sure that that AC adapter is working fine. If the laptop is still not turning on, the problem is with the DC port itself. In that case, you will need to replaced the Motherboard itself.

Hope this will help...Thank you for using Fixya...

Hello I have problem with my PB EN A8. when I press the power button , notebook is not power on. Is notebook death? And battery LED is light. RAM and procesor is good and battery and display...

Hello.

The most common reasons are the battery, power adapter/cord and power jack.

If you move/wiggle the power adapter at the point where it connects to the laptop, and the power goes off and on, the power jack is the problem.

The power jack is inside the laptop and either needs soldering or replacement.

If no change, the power adapter is probably faulty and needs replacement.

Also, power off and remove the battery. If the laptop powers on with just the adapter connected, your battery is faulty.

P.S. No need to apologize for your English. I don't speak a word of Slovak !

Hope this helps.

It won't turn on

Hi. Try theses simple steps:

Remove the Battery
Remove the AC Adapter
Press/hold down power button for 10 seconds
Plug AC Adapter in and turn the computer on
If the system doesn't turn on still then there's a problem with your motherboard. and it might need replacement.

Pavilion dv9308nr PC Notebook: hp dv9308nr wont power on all the time... works if...

Due to regular use of the notebook, some static charges tend to stay in the computer, and sometimes results in not allowing the computer to function properly.

Please follow the power drain procedure to confirm the same:

1. Disconnect the AC Adapter.
2. Remove the Battery.
3. Hold the Power button down for 30seconds to 1 minute.
4. Put the Battery in.
5. Reconnect the AC adapter.
6. Turn on the Notebook power.
7. Restart the Notebook.

If the Notebook boots up you may fix the battery back. Try restarting the computer only with the AC power, without the battery & vice-versa. If the issue still persists then I request you to reset the memory modules, as sometimes the memory module connection get loose.

Hp notebook zd8000 wont power on

In this case i suggest you to remove the battery from the notebook and try to power on the notebook with the help of AC adapter so that you come to know whether the issue is with the Battery or AC adapter. If still the notebook is not getting power with AC adapter you need to take for service retailer store and fix the issue.
