Go thru the menu and make sure that dropping the remote didn't misset the choice of signal input; antenna, cable, etc.

I have a 60 in. Vizio, but I'm pretty sure this will help you out: With the remote that came with your TV (not TiVo, ScientificAtlanta or some other device programmed to control it), press the menu button, then click on audio. You should then see a choice that says "lip synch" or something like it. Click on that and a bar graphic should appear on the screen that looks something like this:
_ __________________ +. This allows you two synchronize and set the audio with the picture - either slow it down or speed it up by a few seconds either way by using the TV remote. I've never had to use it with my Samsung HT, but I know it's there and I know it's function. My TV is also a smart tv, so this should work for you. Good luck. . .

When I press menu the tv is not responding

Hi Henry, I hope I can help you with this. First, let's check the easy stuff:
  1. Does the remote have good batteries and are they installed correctly? (Sorry, I know it sounds like a foolish question, but gotta ask.)
  2. Is the TV powered on? Pressing the menu button won't turn the TV on.
  3. Is there anything blocking the signal to the IR (Infra-red) sensor on the TV?
  4. When you said "Menu" are you meaning the "TV's menu" to adjust the TV settings?, or are you meaning the TV's "Menu" that lists what's on each channel (otherwise known as the "Guide".
  5. If you're looking for the "Guide" menu, that will usually be on the remote that comes with your cable or satellite service provider, and the TV still needs to be powered on to view it. Please reply back in the comments section if this has helped or not and I'll be more than happy to check back in to provide you more assistance if you need it Henry :-).

I bought a out of the box 47 inch Visio LCD E470VLE. Comcast is the cable provider. The entire picture doesn't fit in the screen. I have tried everything in the menu. We miss the sports scores on the...

This is a problem with aspect ratio. You need to find the correct combination of settings between your Comcast menu settings and the television menu settings. I personally have Directv, but there should be something of the same effect in the Comcast menus. On the remote control that came with your cable box, press the menu button and navigate to the settings, and from there display or picture. There should be a setting relating to the aspect ratio, and the same applies for the built-in TV menus using your Visio remote. A typical widescreen LCD has a ratio of 16:9 or 16:10. I hope this helps in some way!

Picture is only in 720p when its suppose to be 1080. How can I change it to the 1080p setting?

You can use the TVs original remote or if you use a universal or programmed remote just make sure the remote is on TV.

Then you just have to press menu. In the menu select a setting such as Screen or Display or something to this same idea and it will allow you to select the picture output. It should list all hte possiblities for your TV including the 1080p.

I'm trying to find or download your user guide....but in the meantime, I would like to know how to get the picture to be full screen on my new insignia 32" tv??? Thank you.

check the remote and menu for format options. the remote may have a button that says "format" "size" "aspect" "wide" the tv menu will have an option to change the size in either the picture settings or something like that.

My mothers 19" Aquos tv


If your tv or your mothers tv actually, is the selected LC-20B4u-S model. Then instructions below, if not post me the correct model.

1. press menu to display the menu screen.

2. press up or down to move the cursor to video adjust and press enter

3. press up or down to move the cursor to the RESET

4. press enter to reset.

if that doesn't help try

Power on the television. The Sony TV has to be on to start the operation.

Press and hold the up arrow on the remote.
Make sure that the remote is facing the television and is not obstructed.

Press the power button on the Sony TV.
Press the button on the television itself, not the power button on the remote. You can release the up arrow after you press the power button. The television will power off and then power itself back on with all of the settings reset to their original factory defaults.

If that doesn't work keep holding the up arrow unti ti power off and back on.

I have a black square in the top left corner of my Prima TV when watching a TV show, but when I press the guide on our satellite receiver it goes away, but returns when I return to normal viewing.

Look on your remote for a function called POP or PIP, if you do then that must be turned off. It sounds like you do have it. If you don't see it then go into your menu under features or under that order, and look for the Picture in Picture feature. each manufacturer calls it something different.

if the lines covered the entiire screen, fist I would check to see if the TV's menu can be seen. If not then check the buffer boards. Next I would check the logic board
