Re: tascam 102 mark 2 cassette

There is a mechanical problem in your tape deck. probably a losen rubber band. it clicks because the rubber is too lose to move the mechinal parts. so when you power off, it losen the whole machanical is very easy to replace..opend the deck and check it out..good luck

How can I fix my 2002 Honda Civic cassette player from ejecting cassettes. I tried a cassette deck cleaner and that gets ejected the same.

The auto-eject feature is normally triggered by the tape reaching its end. This causes the tape to tighten and then activates a trip lever that starts the eject cycle. Most auto tape decks that are not auto-reverse eventually have this problem. It is not usually the deck's fault, but it is with the tapes themselves. After many plays the tapes get wound too tight on the reels and drag, causing the auto-ejection. This is especially true with the thinner, larger tapes found in the C-90 and C-120 varieties. Try taking the tapes to a regular tape player and then fast-forward them from one end to the other and them a full rewind as well to loosen the tape on the spindles and re-distribute the tension. Hopefully this will work.

Tascam 122MKIII Cassette player/recorder is malfunctioning.

I have one here at my shop that does the same thing almost. I found a gear broken in the mechanism system. The flashing LEDs tells you that the system control IC can not get the transport where it is suppose to go. The Gear C as described in the manual was the problem in the deck here. The head base was in the up position in this unit and thus would not eject. My E mail is Due to the amount of dis-assembly to get to the transport control section this might be a job for a technician.

My Play, Pause, and Record button will continuously blink on and off, which prevents me from opening the cassette door using the eject button to play a tape.

That would be me at Skywave Tape Deck Repair- maybe I have contacted you already through Thumbtack.
I can not say more here but if you search for tape deck repair in Chicago you no doubt will come across me sooner or later.
The only other person you would be qualified would be Russ Bachmann at New Jersey Factory service. We both worked at Teac factory service facilities and rose to high ranks at those facilities.

Tascam 644 When I press play it won''t stay on play, it stops. It will rewind and fast forward but that too stops by itself.

Scott has a point. You need to determine what is causing the unit to stop and it could be a bad cam motor belt if it has one or the lack of take-up die to the bad idler or even a dead spot on the reel motor. The reel motor will work normally at high speeds due to inertia but at low speeds as are used in play the dead spot of the motor can become much more apparent.

Tascam DA 40 DAT Machine ." Loading error "

The DAT machine needs new belts and maybe some cleaning. These fail all the time due to old belts that lose the tension that is required.
