Question about Symantec AntiVirus 10.0 with Groupware Protection Business Pack for PC

Will SAV 10.0 5 user business pack install on X64 server X64 OS

I have purchased symantec antivirus 10.0 business pack through a pakistani dealer named " contenantal establishment ". now the problem is that the our client wants to install this product on a 64-bit platform...first tell me will it really install on 64 bit platform...and secondly according to the client they have checked and it is not getting installed on 64-bit platform i.e. IBM Server NX-3400 (64 bit) and it is giving error that this product is not compatible with 64-bit platform ( i m nt sure bcoz i havnt checked for myself)....Now I need your favour to kindly guide me and tell me how to get this product exchanged with a 64-bit version..

It is not possible to install on the 64 bit..

I am trying to download PCAnywhere 12.0 to windows 7 and it tells me they are not compatible


That is correct Symantec list supported operating systems and Windows 7 is not compatible..

Norton not updating


try to check the port from connection setup of ur norton if this port is blocked by ur firewall try to add it as exception

Symantec antivirus scheduled updates time resetting to default


It sounds like you need to be using managed mode for the workstation installations. When you do this, the server will contact the workstations when there is a new update, and not the other way around. You wont have to worry about when it checks if that is the case.

Error 1706 & error occured while loading savrt32.dll


They are the manual instructions but Symantec to have an automatic removal tool floating around. put the CD back in the drive (or get access to it from it's directory or whatever) then repair it as follows:

C:\> msiexec /i "D:\SAV\Symantec AntiVirus.msi"

let it go through it's dog&pony show then when it's done, uninstall it properley:

C:\> msiexec /x "D:\SAV\Symantec AntiVirus.msi" or

Download the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility package from:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe

Install and run. Remove the offending Symantec Install Package from the list. Wella.

Antivirus failure


If you installed any program during this period or did any changes to the windows files, you might have caused a conflict that corrupted the anti virus files. Try uninstalling the antivirus and any recent installations and reinstalling the antivirus. Then update through the net update. Good luck.
