. Press and hold the dial/menu button until "Options Menu" is shown in the display. 2. Use the up/down buttons to scroll through the options below, and press the dial/menu button to select the desired option you wish to set: • Set Language • Local Area Code • Set Time/Date • Set Flash Time • LED Contrast • Set Tone/Pulse • Exit Options 3. Use the up/down buttons to adjust the setting, and press the dial/menu button to confirm and set. NOTE: It is important to set the Area code so that the telephone can distinguish local or long distance calls when dialing from the Caller ID list. NOTE: Time and Date will automatically set when you recieve the first or second Caller ID
Is there a dial tone if you pick up the reciever ? Can you send faxes or use the machine to make a phone call ? If you can make calls or send faxes the machine probably needs to be set to the auto recieve mode so that it automatically answers when a fax is being recieved. If no dial tone you may have a loose connection to your phone jack.
You might try going to your comm manager which is in your programs list. Once you click on it it will take you to a screen that has 7 diff icons on it. If the one that looks like a phone has an X in the lower right hand corner click on it and it should solve your problem.
**Comm manager can also be axcessed by holding down the button on the left side under the slider bar if settings have not been changed**
I would first verify that the line is good. Take a known good corded phone. YES corded phone !!! and try dialing with it and make sure it dials on the line every time. Also make sure that the Pulse/Tone setting is set for your service( there is still a few area without Touch Tone belive it or not)
Once you verify that the line is ok check each phone and take the defective ones back to where you bought them.
