Timer light flashes 3 times

Mitsubishi vs-50605 When the power is turned on via remote or front panel the timer light illuminates and then flashes 3 times-with no picture ever coming on the screen. I figure this is a code but no repair shop will say what it might mean. The put me on hold (while looking up data) then want to set up an appointment. If anyone should know what this code is please let me know. I don't have any tv knowledge so would not try anything difficult-but would prefer not to pay 100's for a blown fuse. Thanks for any help!

yes a tech is the obvious answer here-but i was hoping maybe it was something that i could do. i may not have tv knowledge, but i do electronical house and car work. so knowing its a power supply problem can it be easily pinpointed or is it much more compliated than i can probably tackle? thanks for any other advice!

Flashing green light

Did you try this yet

SYSTEM RESET
If the TV will not respond to either the remote control
or the front panel controls and/or will not power Off,
press the SYSTEM RESET button with a pointed item
like the end point of a paperclip. The TV will turn Off
and the TIMER light will flash quickly for about one
minute. When the TIMER light stops flashing, you may
turn on the TV again. Changes you made the last time
the TV was On before you used the SYSTEM RESET
button may be lost, however, the changes you made
previously are not lost.
POWER/TIMER Indicator
The green light is a multi-function indicator. This light
will flash rapidly for about one minute each time the TV
is plugged into the wall electrical outlet, when power
is restored after a power failure, or using the SYSTEM
RESET button. Do not attempt to turn on the TV again
during this period. Wait for the flashing to stop and
the light to turn off, before attempting to turn the TV
on. While the TV is powered on, the light illuminates
steadily. If the TV has been programmed to turn on
automatically using the Timer feature,

WS-55517 Mitsubishi Rear HDTV projection tv will not turn on

2 blinks followed by 1 blink is the X-Ray protection-----means some problem in the High voltage circuit ---set produces over 25 thousand volts to fire the 3 picture tubes inside up----It could be excessive high voltage-------I think you would have to get lucky for someone to find and fix it in your home----more likely it will need a visit to a Repair shop.

Mitsubishi VS50605 rear projection TV won't come on

The power supply caps in the light engine power supply were faulty when they were installed. You need to remove the power supply and take it to your local electronics shop where they can remove the (7) faulty 1000uf 16v electrolytic capacitors and insert new ones. If you remove the power supply yourself (takes only a philips screwdriver) and reinstall it yourself, the electronics shop shouldn't charge you for more than an hour worth of time. The caps would be about $10.

Here's a photograph (thanks Don Crawford).

Telvision does not turn on

Good Day,
The most common problem with this Model is the Caps on the Main Board, but to make sure pull the codes. Follow this procedure:
This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the input/device and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times. 1 - 2 = no error detected 2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies) 2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection) 2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source) 1. MAY BE INTERMITTENT, SELF-DIAGNOSIS ERROR 23 OR 24. CHECK SOLDER CONNECTIONS AT CONNECTOR "DY" ON THE YOKES. 2. SHUTDOWN AT POWER WITH SELF-DIAGNOSIS ERROR 23 OR 24. CHECK C411 2200 UFD 35 V AND C412 10 UFD 50 V, BOTH LOCATED ON THE MAIN PCB. Good Luck, big IRISH.
