Question about Hotpoint Ultima WF860 Front Load Washer

1 Answer

Hotpoint wt960 lcd screen failure

I have a Hotpoint WT960 which is only about 2 years old. The LCD screen started flickering about 2 months ago and is now fading rapidly. Can this be fixed? The machine itself works fine but obviously once the screen fails I will have a problem. Any advice or suggestions would be apprciated.

Hi, I have experienced this problem on several hotpoint machines with led display's. There is really only one solution for it! If there are no wires hanging off then the answer is in the board, And you will need to replace it. It is a non servicable part and cost around £40.00+++.
Good luck.....

Why is there no picture?

Hi ricky
If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following
symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can
examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life
of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.
If your TV, flatscreen, or monitor is more than 5 years old it is more like to have suffered a
component failure.
Take it to a repair shop.

How can I release chid lock on hotpoint ultima wt960

The Child Lock button is the second from the right in the line of buttons below the LCD screen. Press and hold this button for at least 2 seconds (or until you hear the beep and the icon light goes out). With a number of appliances, I've found that it takes longer than indicated to release a child lock so hold the button until you hear the beep.

The manual for the Ultima WT960 is available here: http://imagebank.indesitcompany.co.uk/brochures_online/pdf/Hotpoint/Laundry/ultima-7kg-lcd-wm-19505771900.pdf . See the bottom of page 18 for the child lock toggle information; the picture of the washer option buttons is on page 9. Use the Adobe Reader Zoom to see the keys (at step 5 of the Starting a typical wash programme). Other Hotpoint appliance manuals are available here: http://www.hotpointservice.co.uk/hs/pages/manual/manualSearch.do .

If the lock will not release, then you may have a problem with the keypad or the controller.

I hope this helps.
