Question about Samsung DVDR120 DVD Recorder
Error message reads "This disc can be neither played nor recorded. Please check the disc. [EC:0207]" I have the correct formatted disc and have tried various types of Dvds. I have also recorded on this unit successfully before. Problems have risen over the past two weeks and refuses to go away. Any suggestions?
Ok, I talked to Samsung support again today, and they confirm that the firmware update should correct the problem of incompatibility with 1-16x discs. They are going to mail a CD with the firmware update to me, at no charge. They were not, however, able to tell me if the file I had originally downloaded from their website was the same as what will be coming on the CD. Sheesh!!
If I can determine that they are the same file, I will post such info. here later. Otherwise, I would advise contacting Samsung support and requesting a disc.

IF you have trouble finding 4x or 8x DVD's, the DVD-RW that I have found are 4x and they work.
A little more expensive.

The wrong speed of DVD is being used. I had the same problem when I bought 16x speed DVDs. The DVD-R120 recorder only records on DVDs that are 8x or lower.

Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
