I have a sony vaio 32bit Notebook, VGN-FZ15G, Nividia GeForce 8400M GT GPU! It was on genuine vista and once I upgraded to windows 7 professional it is giving me problems: eg. The mass storage controller error! And it says there arnt certain driver.... I'm uploading a pic 2 show u hw the graphics r messed up! Please help! I need ths laptop 2 study!!!
Try going to Nvidia's website for the proper drivers. Here's the link http://www.geforce.com/drivers
Try using the "Auto-Detect your GPU" option first.
I had similar problems with my notebook since MSI did not included support for Windows 7 but only Vista (not even XP or older because of the HDD's AHCI mode) but with one difference, for me, Win7 installed correctly, I just had to find some third-party drivers and/or install the Vista ones...
I'm sorry this isn't a real solution, I'm actually joining to those who say Vista drivers most likely should work on Win7 too.
Also- Have you tried installing a fresh Windows 7?
(Not upgrading, reinstalling or such.)
(Note: I can barely see anything at that picture...)

Most likely missing a driver for SD/MC card reader
The problem is that Sony doesnt offer drivers for 64-bit windows so the other 32-bit drivers will not be compatible.
You have the options to install the windows versions supported by sony from esupport.sony.com (Vista or XP)
Or try installing windows 7 32-bit and installing the missing drivers from esupport (Vista section) as usually they are compatible.
If the driver is still missing you will need to update the driver from device manager (previously installed from esupport) and then select to browse or select a location, which will be %temp% or what is the same the temp folder for your account C\users\your_user_name\appdata\temp. This folder is usually hidden but it will work if you just type %temp%

If memory serves me, the mass storage controller is part of the chipset software. Here is a link to the driver download for you laptop. Choose the OS, and then look under motherboard for the chipset driver. While you are there, you might even update all your hardware drivers.
