No. The K7VEM pro motherboard supports only AMD CPUs. The maximums are as follows:

Up to Athlon XP/Palamino 1800+
AMD Thunderbird 1.4 GHz
AMD Duron 1.3 GHz

The preceding information was taken from Soyo's website. Here is the link for the cpu support page.

Thanks and please take a moment to give this a good rating since it answered your question and rate as fixya. Thank you.

i think your best bet is going to be ebay.look for a P4 board that is defective that also has the part on it. you can also search for your exact board.

How do you turn off the integrated video on a Soyo SY-K7VME motherboard??

get into the Bios to disable the onboard VGA. Make sure your monitor is connected to the add on VGA card which you have installed before you disable this. Else you could always look up in the Dsiplay properties > settings and right click on the additional monitor and disable it.

Where do i find the the bios flash. now that soyo has shut down. i can not find a mobo driver for a k7vem pro.

Found this bios for the K7VEM Pro on Softpedia.com

http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/BIOS/Soyo/Soyo-SY-K7VEM-Pro-Bios-2CA4.shtml

Be certain this is the flash bios for your system.
You can brick your motherboard with no way to revive it.

Good luck!

PS. Had a Soyo Dragon MB and LOVED that thing.

Replacing a failed soyo MB. need to know what the various wiring colors are - power, restart, etc. SY-K7VME

Hello,

Are you sure this is not a SY-K7VEM? I did not see a VME.

Here is a link to the manual:

http://www.motherboards.org/files/manuals/107/mk7vem10.pdf

The Front Panel pinout can be seen on the motherboard layout on Page 5. Although this does not give wire colors, the small connectors should have abbreviated labels such as HDDLED or PWRLED.

Thanks for using Fixya.

SY-P4I865PE + Dragon 2 v1.0 locks up while running XP with 3.0E P4

I would say ram. Most the time you have lockups is because of a bad ram address. The system will run for a while till you fill up enough resources to reach the bad ram address then the system will lock up. The funny part of your problem is that it doesn't happen with the other CPU. But I don't think the DDR400 ram was designed to be used in systems with a Prescott CPU. The motherboard may accept the ram and the CPU's all right but the Prescott was a pretty powerful CPU for it's time and I think most of the systems it was designed to run in used a lot faster ram.
