First, did you make sure all the adhesive tape was removed from the cartridge?
Second, try printing a test page or preforming an alignment (or cartridge alignment--same thing). You should be able to do this by accessing your printer utilities or setup software that came with the device. Sometimes there's an actual button or menu screen on the device that will let you do it that way.
If all else fails, reinstall the drivers that came with the printer and that should take care of it.
***hi there,il be willing to help you on that. ****
If paper is stuck inside, turn off the Epson Stylus CX8400 Series. Open the scanner, remove the jammed paper and torn pieces, close the scanner, and turn the Epson Stylus CX8400 Series back on.
***if my troubleshooting steps are helpful, pls vote for me, i will appreciate it, so that I can be a part of fixya, thanks, Godbless****
If ink cartridge Unrecognizable, there are two posibilities : Chip Error at ink tank, or printer error. For chip error, try to plug the ink tank to another printer (same type). If the ink tank recognized by other printer, so the problem is printer. So ; 1. Check chip conector at head carriage. 2. Check the wiring of the head, and chip. If two point above is ok, the last action is check the power supply and board. It may be epprom is damage.
It sounds like you have incompatible cartridges for your printer... Some folks have reported that disabling the Status monitor and turning the printer off/on, plus rebooting the computer can solve this but that's just something I've heard.
You may want to double check with the ink supplier that they have provided the correct cartridges for your DX rather than a CX model.
I had the same problem too. I went to the Epson website and they gave instructions to shake the cartridge 4-5 times prior to installing. It worked!!! I tried alot of things before I saw that I needed to shake the cartridge. Definitely give this a try if you haven't already.
