Try downloading the drivers from http://kbserver.netgear.com/release_notes/d102869.asp. This card does work with Win 98 SE.

Awlh3026 on dell dimension 8300

here's a link at end of this message u can use to read or obtain the 3026 card's manual. or just go to manufacture's site ,,airlink.com, click tab to go to support page and do a search for ur model , then find and download the zip file for the OEM drivers and setup/config utility, extract the compressed file to ur hard drive, be sure u pay attention as to where it is going to be extracted to, then turn ur PC off, power down all the way ,, insert card into the board slot, secure it properly,, restart PC, and when new hardware install screen pops up for the auto detection asking u if u want to install drivers, be sure to click cancel, do not continue with install at this time,,, the window will close,,,then go to folder where u extracted the software files, click setup icon, when it finishes,it will close and restart PC, when it reboots, u should see the Windows lan network connection icon on lower right of screen.. left click it , go to config tab, and remove the default check from box on upper left corner of that window to disable windows from doing any of the card install or config of the wireless connection, Very important**,,, note,,, absolutly no way,, that, both of the utility programs can be enabled or run at same time,, will not work with 2 bosses,, meaning both the airlink setup/config utility and the default windows networking program.,,, this link to read smaller 4 page manual it will explain in detail,,, or u can also locate and download the original larger 20+ page instruction manual at the airlink site as well,,, I just installed same card into a Dell Dimension 8200 last night,,,, had a hell of a time myself,, totally failed at figuring it out per the usual/norm standard installs,, that is,,until I finally did the research,, determined the error was made when initially installing the drivers at detection using the plug n play from windows instead of clicking "cancel" button , as required,,at time of detection of card...then doing the complete install, setup, . and config using only the downloaded OEM Airlink software. Be sure to download the awlh3026_util_drv_winme/xp zip file download that is clearly marked for XP operating systems, two are aailable for xp,, u will need both the drivers and the utility as well as the manual download,,, and only trust software downloads if obtained from the official manufacturer's site ,, heres one set of instruction manual u can go read right now without downloading it to help explain quickly
hope this helps

Wi-fi card on Win98SE laptop not allowing internet to connect.

I really believe this is some kind of driver error. You must first remove the existing driver and then install the following driver.
http://download.cnet.com/D-Link-AirPlus-Xtreme-G-DWL-G650-Adapter/3000-2112_4-67890.html
If that doesn't work we're gonna have to try messing with the wireless router settings.

You'll need to download this software for the card and re-install the driver. You can download the 5MB driver here:

http://downloads.linksysbycisco.com/downloads/WPC54GX_0(2),0.zip

Once you get it, open up the folder, and run the setup.exe file inside. This will put the drivers where they need to go. If it still doesn't work after that, you may need to turn your Windows Wireless Zero Config service on. You can do this by right clicking My Computer, go to Manage, go into the Services menu, and locate the Wireless Zero Config service. If it's disabled or not started, start it and set it to start automatically.

TrueMobile won't connect to my network

Over the past few months I have seem more of this issue. I am beginning to think that there may be Microsoft updates that could be conflicting with the wireless network adapter config. But this is only a speculation.

In the mean time, you may have a faulty wireless card. If the unit is under warranty, have Dell replace it. If not, you could disable the internal one and purchase a Linksys Wireless G or N USB adapter from Staples....just to rule it out.

Can't connect to home hub

first, check if your networ adapter is installed properly by opening your device manager. if it is there and does not appear with any marks or splats like a question mark or exclamation point, you can close that window, check if wireless zero config (if you have WinXP) or wireless auto config (if you have WinVista) in Start> Run> Services.msc (XP) or Start>click on search field and type in Services.msc and right-click on that item and choose either Start OR Restart. close that window . (on WinXP) open network connections in control panel, right click on Wireless Network Connections>Properties>click on Wireless Connections tab, place check mark on Use Windows to Configure Wireless, click on OK, that will close that window. then right-click again on the Wireless Network Connection and choose View Available Wireless Network, your network should be there now. on vista, just simply look for the "two computer" icons in the system tray at the bottom right near the time, right-click on that and choose Connect to a Network, it should be able to find your network from there.

Getting setup

Unless you get into the configuration of the router, you don't have to worry about 'messing' anything up... you just need to know the SSID (the name of the wifi connection they configured) and the password, if it is protected with WEP or WAP... just install the card into the laptop with the proper drivers, and use either the utility that came with the laptop (turn off the Windows Wireless Config in your services.msc) or use Windows Wireless Config Utility to access (find) the SSID of her router..
