Question about Samsung PCL541R 54" Rear Projection Television
I have red wavy lines on the screen and everything on the screen has a red blur beside it. I could not get it to converge as the cross hairs were way off. I also have a electronics smell as if something is getting HOT. I removed the back and found that one of the IC's (STK392-040) was very hot. I replaced both IC's and still have the same problem. now I cannot begin to converge the red. it does not move. I replaced the IC's as i seen another problem similiar on the site and that was the solution. I am not sure where to go now. I do not know what is getting hot and making the smell. I would love to fix this t.v. it is only 6 yrs young and I have it recessed in a wall. the recess hole was made to fit the t.v.
Hi and welcome to FixYa,
Initially, were the power resistors on the same board as well as pico fuses checked/replaced? If not, the it is highly possible that the STKs were again damaged, would have to be replaced together with the said resistors and pico fuses.
Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.
