To answer your question;
Your motorola will connect directly(not through the dvd) to the tv set into one of the input ,(preferably using hdmi or component cables for hd) and the dvd will use a different input,
All you have to do then is switch between which one you want to watch.
Hope this help Cheers
if you connect the dvd to the tv using scart socket 2 (av2) it should send a signal to the dvd, depending on the make/model of tv, you also may have to set the av2 output in the menu. Alternativly, connect the sky to the dvd input and the dvd output to the tv, this should also work.May have to watch the tv with the dvd on set to av.
Hi awillis98 this is Mike Houston of DISH Network, with the Archos DVRstation there will be a USB connection from the device to the DISH Networkreceiver, one the DISH receiver has recognized the external hard drive you willsee pop-ups on the screen that will walk you through the steps to configureyour Archos device. I will send a link to help with the setup for the externalhard drive. http://www.dishnetwork.com/SupportSection/setup-ehd
I work for a cable company that has this exact cable box. in our system we choose not to actvate this option. cable companys go to motorola and give them the exact features that they want the box to perform. most cable companys won't have that feature added mainly 1 due to cost and 2 if you have that type of box it probably has on demand available, so they want you to rent a movie then to play it on dvd.in my opinion straight to the tv is better anyway, the less devices you run the video signal through the less problems you will have . all those ports on the back of the box is standard for the 6412, but are not always actvated.
Make sure that the sound cables are connected,If you are using the RED BLUE GREEN cables,they do not carry sound.You have to run a set of sound cables RED AND WHITE to the Archos from the cable BOX or whichever component you are recording from.Good Luck.
I HAVE A SKY+ BOX ALSO , AMSTRAD MAKE ON BACK, TRY SETTING IT TO DIGITAL RECEIVER INSTEAD OF SAT RECEIVER, THEN SELECT THE MAKE PACE, THEN CODE NO 8 ( B676 ) THIS DID TURN OFF MY SAT RECEIVER BUT THEN ACCIDENTALLY SCREWED UP THE NEXT STAGE AND I CAN NOW NO LONGER TURN THE SAT BOX OFF,
BUT YOU MAY HAVE MORE LUCK, IF YOU DO NOT SCREW THE NEXT STAGE UP, BEST OF LUCK
Check to make sure all of the configuration on the AV 500 are as they should be. If they are you are looking at a defective unit (might be hardware based) if it is I would suggest that is you do not have a background in electronics to take the unit to a repair shop. If you do have experience you will need the following items:
A schematic diagram of the AV 500
A Multimeter to measure the voltages at test points of the AV 500
An Oscilloscope to measure the signals and levels at test points of the AV 500
if you have these pieces of equipment then you will want to start your test at the dectector stage (this is where video and audio are separated from the IF which is derivied from the RF so if you have video and audio at this point you know the input RF-IF-detector stages are working.
Now based on your troubleshooting you inputted signal at the video processor by using the the video inputs, so from this I am going to take a stab at saying the problem more then likely would be located in the stages at and after the video processor stage (since in this case no signal may mean no video signal as opposed to no RF signal).
