Computer turns on, wont load windows, then goes to a blank screen

Okay, so i'm freaking out, within the past 2-3 days both of my computers have completely crashed. First, my laptop restarts and wouldnt load windows, would just get stuck on loading windows xp window. Safe mode, with or without networking and last known settings that worked, didnt work at all. Either it would freeze up, or restart after a certain point. I couldnt get the repair disk to work either, i had to redo my computer loosing everything.

Then today, me desktop did the same thing. Is this a virus? Or what? Also, when i redid the laptop there was 3 partitions. There was also a password added when i didnt make a password. Also, now there are two windows i have to choose from. I can't access the other windows at all. I feel very uneasy. The laptop is running xp and the desktop is running vista. Is there anything I should do? Any programs that could help me out? My anti virus is SAV.

When a PC boots first it checks all of the hardware to ensure all is working properly. The stage two of that is turning it over to the operating system. When it is turned over to the operating system the first thing it looks for is the Master Boot Record which is a small program on your hard drive that starts your operating system. If it cannot find the Master Boot Record or if the boot record is corrupt then the operating system will not load. In order to fix put the WIndows operating system disk into your CD ROM and let it boot to the CD ROM. Allow it to load for a few minutes and it will eventually ask you if you want to proceed with the installation or "repair". Choose repair. This is one option to fix your boot record.
Second option is to use Recovery Console. Put the Windows CD in the CD ROM. Click on Start and then Run. In the run box type D:\i386\winnt32.exe /cmdcons (where D is your CD ROM drive). Follow the instructions on the screen. You will be at the command line, type in FIXBOOT. This will also fix your master boot record. Follow these procedures anytime you have an operating system load error use the Recovery CD as your last resort. Hope this helps.

The screen cable is most likely damaged. Try connecting an external monitor. If it works, you need to take the computer to a repair center to have the cable changed.

What's wrong with my computer

Yes. You have a very sick VGA card in your computer. Get it replaced. The reason it runs okay in safe mode is because full potent driver and graphics don't load in safe mode to aggravate the card's illness. When the driver fully loads in normal mode, the card freaks out.

Good luck
