Question about Canon CanoScan 4200F Flatbed Scanner
When i use my 4200f i always get the message "adjusting the lamp please wait" it sits there for 2-3 minutes and then cracks into life,is this correct? or can i do something about it. thanks ken.
This is normal for the 4200F and it's just the time taken to warm the scanning lamp up. Once it's warmed up it shouldn't need to go through the process again for any additional scans, unless it's had long enough to cool down again of course.
I've noticed from another answer to an earlier question that if it's a big problem you can change the following keys in your registry:
Energy save changed to 1
Lamp Off Time changed to 0
Looks like this would prevent your lamp switching off at all unless you unplugged your scanner which would undoubtedtly shorten your bulb life. It may be a better idea to play about with the 'lamp off' key number until it just stays on long enough to not cause you problem.
