SOURCE: Not all jpeg images will load on 7'' Pandigital Photo Frame

I was having a problem too with my Smartparts frame. All the pics were from the same camera but some of the vertical (portrait) orientation shots wouldn't show right. Just a bunch of thin colored lines. After some phone calls I did try to "resize" the photos to the "resolution" of my frame (had to look that up too). My frame is 640 width by 480 high. So I took a shot and changed all the goofy photos to 480 width (since they were vertical) and let Photoshop change the the other number. Low and behold the buggers are showing up fine now. Well on to my next problem - focusing with the new D90. I think that one is going to be more challenging yet. Hope this helps you out.

I have a smartparts picture frame.SP113mw Just loaded new pictures and first pic comes up and freezes, tried re-connecting to computer nothing. Can't use any of the buttons its locked up and can't...

The first (most obvious?) solution is to discard/destroy/disable/discombobulate the SP113MW. For my Mother-in-Law, I just deleted some of her images from built-in flash.

The SP113MW has a 128 mB flash drive that is accessible by USB, per previous suggestions. HOWEVER, the probable reason that your frame freezes on startup is that you have more than 744 images in the "Smartparts Pictures" folder on the built-in flash memory.

The SP113MW has a maximum limit of 744 images for a slideshow rotation, regardless of how much space is on the drive (that includes Built-in flash, USB, SD, or any of the drives). The default drive on startup is the built-in flash, so you may just have to delete some images to get under the 744 limit. FORGET the manufacturer's claim of "2000 images" (because it is technically correct); you can store 2000, but you'll never play a slideshow of 2000 (nor any slideshow if you have that many images). Reduce to 744 (all jpg's) and all will be well.

The other irritating thing about the SP113MW is that it does not allow the slideshow to include all drives: just one drive at a time, and that drive cannot have more than 744 images on it (or the slideshow freezes). That is why your comment about "trash" may not be a bad idea. However, mine Mother-in-Law's still works, so I accepted the limit, and it still sits on her shelf.

How do i upload pics from my pc

I have a Mac and tried to drag and drop my photos as mentioned above. The results?

- Wiped all pictures off of the frame.
- When I tried to reload from my laptop it shows "format not supported" as a placeholder for the pictures. The images are in jpg format.

How can I fix this problem?

How do I keep a photo rotated?

Not all frames can save rotated images. Try rotating a photo on the frame's built-in memory, not one on a memory card. If it still does not save, then this model does not save rotated images.

Pictures are cut off! Just got a 8 inch Pandigital photo frame for Christmas and loaded pictures on it. Since it does not have auto-rotation, I manually rotated any pictures that needed it before I put...

The frame is cropping the images to fill the screen. You need to change the image display settings from Optimal to Original in the setup menu. This way the entire image will show.

I'm told the directory or file canot be created when I try to drag a picture to the pandigital folder even though I've already copied about a 100 images using the same method.

I have a Pandigital too and although I don't think the users guide mentions it (major oversight on their part), the root directory on this thing can only hold a limited # of files/folders (mine is limited to 108) If I understant it correctly, it's due to the fact that the pandigital uses a FAT (file allocation table) storage method - not that the reason matters. The solution is: make folders in the root directory (you could have up to 108 folders on my pandigital) and I believe each subfolder can have an unlimited number of files in it. I just call my subfolders "Dec 2009 additions, Jan 2010 additions, etc). The Pandigital will randomly cycle thru files in each of these subfolders just as if they were in the root directory. Hope this helps.

How to play PPT on Pandigital Electronic frame?

You cannot play a PowerPoint presentation files on the frame. However, if you add still images (JPG) and music (MP3). The frame can play it's own slideshow.
