How to unlock without remote kdc 422 - Kenwood KDC-422 CD Player

use the preset buttons 1 - 4 , press #1 preset until the first digit comes up and repeat the process for 2,3, and 4. if i remember correctly, once the code is entered, press the am or fm button or possible the seek up or down, i'm not completely sure.

try disconnecting power to the radio for a few minutes and the reconnect it.

if you did not add a code to unit just ignore that code say and push source and unit should come on all kenwood deck say that'

KENWOOD SECURITY CODE CLEAR procedure


Your radio will require one of the following procedures.

Type 1
During the code request mode, while holding the DISP key depressed, press and hold the Volume UP or DOWN key for 3 seconds (so that “…” disappears).
Then using your remote enter your code.

Type 2
Press the "Auto" button and "Track up" on face of radio at the same time. The four dash lines ( . . . . ) should "disappear".

Then using your remote enter your code.

Type 3
Model# DPX-4020 and DPX-4030
Press and hold the 1 then the 6 preset key (preset keys are the buttons on face of radio for storing you "favorite" radio stations). "C" should display.
Then using your remote, enter your code.


Enter your number from the remote control unit. Your code number is 5227 (KCAR)

* Press numeric key “5” ( 2 times ) and press the Track UP/Next Track key
* Press numeric key “2” ( 3 times ) and press the Track UP/Next Track key
* Press numeric key “2” ( 1 time ) and press the Track UP/Next Track key
* Press numeric key “7” ( 2 times ) and press the Track UP/Next Track key

The security is canceled and the set enters the TUNER mode!

i have the same radio and it was acting funky all of a sudden, i just disconnected the power wires to it for a few minutes and re-connected and all was ok and has been for about a year now. hope this helps.

i need a code for kdc-322 i bay a used car but they dont giveme the code the unit is workin but askinme for the code please can some one helpme wit the code

No way to do it without the remote, sorry about that. You can take it to an authorized kenwood service center and for a small fee they will clear the code for you. My shop charges $25 to do it, most shops are about the same. That would be cheaper than buying the remote and doing it yourself.
