Same problem Matshita DVD-RAM UJ-851S. Been trying to work out for 2 solid days. There are so many complaints on this "NON" dvd playing drive I now no why it is appropriately named maSHITa. I cannot believe HP continues the use if this *&^%(*. They want more money to fix above the warranty. I will just buy another dvd drive that's dependable. Recommend you do the same.

Busco matshita dvd-ram uj-840s driver para el windows xp. Alguien me puede ayudar? No lo encuentro en ninguna pagina. En la pagina oficial solamente existe para el windows 2000. Gracias.

Not sure of your question; I read only English.

There are many sources for the drivers for your DVD; many would liek you to downlaod and use their driver update programs. An advantage is if there is ever an additional update the program will let you know. Here are two examples that you might consider as sources for an updated driver:

Matshita dvd-ram uj-851s ata device vista

Foolw the guide below, this will edit the registry, making the device visible and useful again.....

Windows Vista
1. Click Start
and then click All Programs.
2. Click Accessories, and then click Run.
3. Type regedit, and then click OK.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow.
4. In the navigation pane, locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
5.
6. In the right pane, click UpperFilters.

Note You may also see an UpperFilters.bak registry entry. You do not have to remove that entry. Click UpperFilters only. If you do not see the UpperFilters registry entry, you still might have to remove the LowerFilters registry entry. To do this, go to step 8.

7. On the Edit menu, click Delete.
8. When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.
9. In the right pane, click LowerFilters.
10. On the Edit menu, click Delete.
11. When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.
12. Exit Registry Editor.
13. Restart the computer.

Cant burn cd - error 4450

So first off, you have a problem with your registry. This is a problem seeing as you are not an administrator and the only way to fix the registry is to be an admin. So if and/or when you are and administrator simply download the RegCure registry repair tool. also get a SpyWare scan as well and update all your system drivers. That should do the trick or just any old program off the internet that cleans out your registry really. If you want to edit the registry manually just hit start>run and type in regedit and mess with it there. unless you know what you're doing i wouldn't recommend messing with the registry though.

Cannot burn CD or DVD

In the Device Manager, right-click on the DVD drive and select the Uninstall option. Reboot the computer so it will re-detect the drive, reinstall the proper drivers and reset its configuration information. Then try burning the disc again.
