Motorola razor v3

In my msg center menu, it says my memory meter is low a 1. How would I charge that? My battery is not low and I read my book and dont know how to fix it. can you help me? Thanks tricia
what is this memory meter used for? I have no pic on it.

Hi, Nazimraza first perform the following tests:
1. Fill acid type batteries to proper levels.
2. Charge battery overnight at 1-2 amps you need 12.5 volts or better after charging.
3. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Hook up battery positive cable, then with your multimeter on the milliamp scale connect one lead to the negative battery post and the other lead to the ground cable. Meter should read 3 milliamps or less, 10 milliamps with a radio, 15 milliamps with radio and CB. If your meter reads higher you need to isolate the circuit by pulling fuses and circuit breakers one at a time and observe meter for a drop in amperage then get out your test light and track down the short in that circuit.
5. Hook up a voltmeter to the battery and start the engine, if meter falls below 9.0 volts while cranking you need to perform a proper load test on the battery and replace if necessary.
6. With the engine running at 3600 RPM, the battery should read 14.3-14.7 volts if not continue tests.
7. Unplug the voltage regulator from the alternator at crankcase by the front of the primary cover.
8. To test voltage regulator go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8EjV0IjW9Q
9. With ohm meter, one lead grounded, touch alternator pin meter should read infinity, if not replace the stator.
10. With ohm meter, both leads touching alternator pins meter should read 0.1 to 0.2 ohms on 1989 and later models. 0.2 to 0.4 ohms 1988 and earlier models, if not replace the stator.
11. With the voltmeter set on AC scale, both leads touching alternator pins meter should read 16 to 20 volts AC for every 1000 RPM'S 1989 and later and 19 to 26 volts AC for every 1000 RPMS. If not replace the rotor.

Low voltage battery


Hi Anonymous, perform the following tests:
1. Fill acid type batteries to proper levels.
2. Charge battery overnight at 1-2 amps you need 12 volts or better after charging.
3. Make sure all connections are clean and tight especially the negative cable at both ends.
4. Hook up volt meter to battery and start engine, if meter falls below 9.5 v replace battery.
5. With engine running at 3600 RPM battery should read 14.3-14.7 volts if not continue tests.
6. Unplug voltage regulator from alternator at crankcase by front of primary cover.
7. Clip a testlite to a good ground and touch regulator pin, if light glows replace regulator.
8. With ohm meter, one lead grounded, touch alternator pin meter should read infinity, if not replace stator.
9. With ohm meter, both leads touching alternator pins meter should read 0.1 to 0.2 ohms on 1989 and later models. 0.2 to 0.4 ohms 1988 and earlier models, if not replace stator.

Charging system problems


no year stated, nor miles, nor if in the Salt belt (winter salted roads)
the dim dont lie. that is the mark of excessive of resistance.
the Head lights, dim , key off. turning them on>? when key on
heater fan , now dim,,,(got resistance)
the starter uses 100 amp, so is 10times more (at least)
if you'd had a cheap voltmeter (even 5 decades old) it had found this.

working DMM free, (dig, multi meter) makes this hard.
you will have to inspect every wire and end of every wire.
if the HL fail , ALWAYs trouble shoot that failure first.
walfart has a 10buck meter or DMM.

ill shows you the HL fix.
I turn on HL (head lights) and they are dim or dim with heater fan on.
i check battery voltage (across terms)
12v good, less bad. (not charged or bad battery)
with all loads off the battery reads 12.6v, in a warm area.
since i dont know you location or ambient temperature i can give
exact readings (and can !)
this test passes. so i connect my 2 meter leads
one to battery lug plus and other black lead to car body metal
(not engine , the body)
0.5vdc max, with HL on. if higher your body to battery ground is bad.
test 3 : this is not in random order at all..'

DMM black lead to body ground. all below checks.
(1990-1997) real Geo's dates. i only have corolla drawings,
if gm /geo didnt butcher the harness...then.....
there an engine bay fuse box. see it?
I then move my test leads as follows. (all with HL on)
the HL is on , to put a load on the system this technique, finds
weak resistive connections.

all comments for a 1996 (my wild guess) (black on body , HL on)
1: red lead to main fuse box. (this car really is a Corolla)
probe all lugs on the main fuse box, 12v it must be or you
have corrosion resistance, at any lug that is below 12v.
when we find a low reading we trace backwards to the battery
to find it. (using the meter)

between the battery plus and eng.bay box, is a FL main fuse.
"fuse link = FL"
this fuse runs the head lights directly and then goes to the main
eng.bay fuse box and runs the whole car. 100a fuse and 40 amp there
some cars have DRL (daylight running lights do you?)
by now the node (lug, terminal or pin) tha t reads low has been found
and you are posting back with year, and where it reads low.
in fact, the meter will take you to the bad spot and once found
you look at thAt part and its all green and ugly, bingo.

i posted this , instead of wild guess.

How do i know if my jazzy power charger is working


Without the charger the batteries would go dead. You could put a voltmeter across the batteries and you should read more than 28 VDC while charging.

I have a 1993 harley davidson softail the battery is brand new and will take a charge but the battery goes dead the bike died on me to day and since then i don't have a low beam. it will run fine

Inverter output voltage (eg. 96 volts) not if this is an issue


96 volts is low. 106 volts is low. You need to be about 110 to 120 volts optimum. How is your battery input? This is crucial for the inverter to output correctly. If it needs 24 volts DC in Then make sure it's 24 volts. 48 volts means 48 volts. Check the battery voltage and compare to inverter input requirements first.
