Question about Belkin Computers & Internet
After setting up a password on my Belkin Wireless N F5D8236-4v1 router I am unable to login to the web config page. I have tried resetting it back to default except is does not go back to default. It keeps the exact same config. I unplugged it held the reset in and plugged it back in while holding the reset and this still did not reset it back to default. I also shutdown my computer then my router then my modem then plugged back in like the manual says and guess what? still not default. Please help! I really do not want to return it for the speed of the 802.11n. I also tried downloading the firmware the the Belkin page and reloading it but ofc that did not work either. Thanks in advanced.
To reset this router, you perform holding downt the reset butto while the router is plugged in for ten seconds, it should then automatically restart to factory default settings.

That is indeed strange. Holding in the reset button should definitely clear the wireless router memory. Are you sure that you're going to the right administration page to configure the router? It should be something like 192.168.1.1.
Also... by any chance are there other wireless networks nearby? I'm wondering if your computer accidentally connected to that while the wireless router was off... and now you're going to the wrong router.
If none of that works, try leaving the router unplugged for about five minutes. The volatile memory shouldn't last much longer than that.

Tips for a great answer:

4. Wait approximately one minute for the router to restart.
The settings for the router have now been reset back to their default.
Do not forget the new password and keep it somewhere safe. If you forget your password, you'll be unable to access your router's settings. If you forget or lose your password, you'll need to "Perform a hardware reset on the router". This will reset the password to its default, as well as erase any and all other settings you may have changed.
1. Connect the computer to one of the four LAN ports on the router.
2. Open a web browser on the computer.
3. In the address bar of the web browser, type http://192.168.2.1
