Re: Epson C84 - no power
Most likely cause is the power supply has let go. It could be a fuse inside the power supply. You would need a servie manual to get you in to the machine to check if a fuse is present on the PSU.
Try either of the following:

Either of these should help you get a manual

Well wish I had good news. Sounds like you're voltage distribution board got fried. BUT before we pronounce it dead, are you getting any codes at all? Or is everything blank? If your getting nothing, nothing you can do. Did you plug into wall or power strip? For grins, try one more outlet.
check first the power cable if properly connected to the back (or side) of the machine and on the power outlet. if its plugged in to a power extension, unplug it from the machine and from the power outlet, leave it like that for 2mins, and plug it back to the machine then directly to the wall outlet instead. if theres still no power, press down and hold the power button for 30secs, if nothing happens, the machine is dead, if its still under warranty, bring it to the store for free service.
1. Unplug the power cord from the back of the product. 2. Unplug the power cord from any surge protectors or power strips. 3. Select a wall outlet to plug the product into. Test the wall outlet by plugging another electric appliance, such as a lamp, into the wall outlet and turning it on. Unplug the test appliance. 4. Plug the power cord into the back of the product. 5. Plug the power cord into the wall outlet. 6. Press the Power button to turn the product on. 7.Now check if its already working.
Thanks for using FixYa. The printer won't operate properly if it's tilted. Place it on a stable and flat surface. Please do not leave your printer turned on when not in use to avoid print heads being clogged. In the instant case the ink cartridges can also leak into the printer. If the print heads are clogged then run the head cleaning and alignment utility. The print head nozzles may also need cleaning.
Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.
Disconnect it from the mains ,Waite for about 10 min and then reconnect and see what happens.
Try another wall socket and if possible another power lead.
if that doesn't solve it then it's off to the cemetery for it.(sorry)
Or you can take it to an Epson support center and ask for a quote.
This typically is not an issue with re-fill cartridges, but it could be. At this point, if you have replaced the cartridges, ran cleaning cycles AND called Epson, that's all you can do. I would advise just replacing the unit as it's too expensive to fix.
The power supply inside your printer has failed. Unfortunately the C84 model does not feature a replaceable power supply. Sorry, but when a C84 power supply fails, you have little choice except to extract the ink cartridges and throw out the printer. You asked if this problem could have been caused by switching power at a point other than the switch on the printer. The answer is, "No." It's okay to power-cycle a printer this way. However, if your nickname of "portugal" truly indicates that you actually reside in Portugal, I would consider getting a "line conditioner", which would protect your printer (and your other computer equipment as well) from unfriendly spikes or dropouts in electricity. By the way, in the U.S. the phone number for Epson printer support is (562) 276-7525.
