Question about Pioneer VSX-1016 Receiver

1 Answer

I have a Pioneer VSX1016TXV-K receiver & the remote doesn't work

My remote seems to be sending a signal to the receiver but it won't work the receiver. I can manually use everything on the receiver. I talked to Pioneer and I told them I think I need a remote sensor and they sent me a tuner knob. I told them that wasn't the problem and now they are telling me to order some type of switch. I don't think this is the right part either. Does anyone know if you can get a new remote sensor or if not is it likely something else?

It is unlikely to be the sensor. Could be the wrong code from the controller.

SOURCE: Pioneer VSX-D412 AMP-ERR message.

Hello,
The AMP-ERR message in many Pioneer Receivers is caused by some DC in the output. The microprocessor then issues the warning and shuts the unit off. It is definitely not a relay switch. It could be the amplifier power pack, i.e. PAC011A or similar that is faulty or something else. Not easy to repair for the non- experienced DIY.

Good luck

This is the manual for this unit..and it seams (as described at ..controls ) it only have controls for time setting on the remote ..(the buttons with H and min ) So ..if there are no buttons like that on the main unit ..the set time is impossible without the remote ..
I believe the problem with your unit is the remote sensor....and not the remote itself ..

Pioneer vsx-32 won't turn on with remote

Hi, since both remotes suddenly fail, I am assuming the problem is more than likely with the received rather than the remotes.

If you do wish to check your remotes, then point your mobile phone camera at the remote's Infrared lens and press one the remote's buttons. Your mobile phone camera is able to detect Infrared light and in case you remotes are working properly, you should see light coming out of your remote's Infrared lens.

Make sure that no direct sun light is on your receiver because that can effectively block out the signals from your remote controls.

Try the following method to reset your receiver. Unplug your receiver mains cable from the mains wall socket; power your receiver on by pushing the on/off button (nothing will happen obviously) and leave it like that for say 30 minutes. By that time all capacitors in your receiver will have discharged. Plug your received mains cable in the mains wall socket.Push the receiver's on/off button and see if it know responds to your remote controls.

If the problem still persists, you may have a failed Infrared receiver LED. That component can be found inside your receiver. It will take some basic elelectronics skills to get this component replaced. A service manual can help you. You can download it for free from this website: http://elektrotanya.com/pioneer_vsx-32_33.pdf/download.html

Good luck.

The remote to my aircon doesn't seem to be sending a signal

If you get a mobile phone and select its camera, then look at the LED at the front of the remote thru the camera, press some keys on the remote unit and you should see the LED light up on the remote on the mobile phone camera screen (it picks up Infra Red which we can't see). this will let you know if the remote control is working. if it is, the receiver at the indoor unit is either covered with something, check thoroughly, or the receiver is faulted, replace via technician. Hi, I have a Yamaha rx-v450 amp that won't change sound modes (stereo, hall, jazz, rock etc) from the remote control but it works from the buttons on the unit. I've checked my remote by pointing it...

Hi! Transmitting doesn't mean it's working, What you should do to test it is use a good quality universal remote such as a Logitech Harmony and first program the preset code for your receiver into the Universal Remote. If that works, you know your OEM remote has gone bad, at least for those buttons. If it doesn't then you you should attempt to have your Universal Remote "learn" the IR signals from your receiver's remote If the controls still don't work, there is a problem with either your IR receiver on your receiver or the the circuitry that proceesses the signals into commands. Good Luck!

Doesn work at all

I've had the same problem. Get the technical assistance phone # out of the manual that came with the fan. They can give you the proper part # so that you can then call Home Depot and special order the receiver. However, I have done this and then installed the new receiver as advised by Hampton Bay and I still am unable to get the remote to operate the fan or the lights. I know the fan works becaue I bypassed the receiver and wired directly to house power. I don't know if perhaps I have a bad transmitter (remote). I'll try that next. The fan worked for about a year, now its just a headache.

Pioneer VSX-D608 Optical connection

The manual states that the default association of each digital input in as follows:
  • Optical 1: CD
  • Optical 2: MD
  • Optical 3: TV
  • Coax: DVD
Use the "Signal select" button to set the receiver to use a digital input, and the Dolby/DTS button (above "Signal select") to enable decoding.

As samz11 stated above, a remote is required to alter the digital input mapping.
