Sounds like age has caught up with it and may have component failure which for an item that age is not worth it, your only possible chance may be to factory reset it back to its original state this feature should be found in its install/menu settings this will wipe all settings made in its life. Then you will need to reset every thing but hope the problem has cleared in this process.
If not then a new one is needed, as repair would be costly and I doubt worth it in the long run.

Hope this helps..........

SOURCE: samsung plasma ppm42s3 , picture wobbling, sometimes screen goes blank

Hello arunaik_6,

This looks as if a component has become thermally sensitive. The best way to find this is to use component cooling spray. It looks as if the problem is localized to the tuner section. Take the back off of the TV and turn the TV on, wait until the problem occurs and lightly spray the tuner section with the component cooling spray watch for any reaction, then if this does not work spray the Microprocessor and the LVDS section and watch for a reaction. The set should go back to normal when it does that section is the problem, try to localize the problem to one component. Then replace that component.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

SOURCE: Samsung Plasma TV

I have this problem too. I have had a technician over to service it twice already and I picked up on a few things he did to fix it. Here is what I learned. the raining pixels has to do with the timing in the circuit boards. Basically telling them when to turn on and off. I would only recomend this solution if you are technically inclined. Remove the back from your tv on the left upper quadrant you should see a small gray dial with marks that a Philips screw driver would fit it. There are three or four of these on the boards scatter across the tv. Each on corresponds to the colors firing in sequence. Take your Philips and turn it to either extream. You should see a your screen go crazy with whatever color corresponds to the dial. Then ever so slowly turn the dial undtil you don't see any more flickering. Do that with each dial and you should be able to get rid of most of the flickering. on the right side of the there is a panel underneath the support bar with orange adjuster. I don't know what they do but they also help reduce the flickering. A word of caution. If you can use something non metallic to adjust these dials. There is a small metal lip to keep the dial from turning too far. If your screw driver touches it. It will fry the dial and your screen will blink red/yellow or blue. and you will have to buy a new board. Luckily they are only about 30 bucks, but I learned the hard way.

SOURCE: Screen goes black nafter start up. What can I do?

You probably have some bad buffer boards as well as a bad Y-main bd and or a bad X-Main bd. Have a trained samsung tech troubleshoot the set.

SOURCE: Samsung LN-R408D - No Picture

My Mom's LNR408D also had sound but no picture. I was able to fix it by soldering in a jumper wire across a blown (1.5A ???) SMD picofuse on the "T-Con" board.
Consider attempting this ONLY if you: 0) Know enough to avoid the potentially fatal High Voltage parts of the power supply board!!!
1) Are a fearless hackazoid 2) know what you're doing with a soldering iron and teensie SMD parts 3) are gonna throw the busted thing out anyway so you have nothing to lose and won't be sad if you screw something up.
4) Know enough to avoid the potentially FATAL High Voltage parts of the power supply board!!!!!

This board is at the top center under a close fitting RF shield. The suspect part was labeled "CP" on the board and marked with "P" on the part. It is visible above the right-center of the connector from the main board. An ohmmeter showed it as open, so I bypassed it with a jumper wire from connector VIN to the hot side of C13. One image shows the suspect part and the jumper in place.

The other shows the TCON board placement top-center (under its RF shield). With care, it seems possible to test the fuse and put the jumper in place without removing the shield. (Obviously don't touch anything else with the VOM leads!)

Thanks to ZORBUS and Steve's TV and Electronics for the idea.

SOURCE: Bottom half of the screen is black on Samsung HP-R5072 50 in. HDTV Plasma Television

I have a solution. My Samsung plasma had the same problem with the bottom half of the screen being black. Follow these directions and it will not cost you a dime, just some time. I took the back panel of the tv. I found the lower buffer board on the left hand side. I disconnect all the ribbon cables. Use an air cleaner to spray out any dust on the ribbon connection and the board. I connect the ribbons back to the board. My plasma is now as good as new. If you have issue with the top portion, do the same with the upper buffer board. I was going to buy a new tv but I'm glad I gave this a shot first. It's been almost a month and it's still working fine. Hope this helps and hope it saves you some money.

My little sister's RCA TruFlat 27" TV won't turn on. I don't know it's model number. I have it connected to cable and it works, and I know the wall plug works. The little red light that I press to turn on...

She changed the Frequencies per second (in the Americas it has to be 60 hertz, In Europe, Asia, and elsewhere it has to be 50 hertz). Changing that will cause the tv to self destruct.

LC-37SH12U picture is upside down

Its somewhat common for this to happen and generally its an easy fix but since your set doesn't have the flip picture option your going to need to get into the service mode to fix this...below are the steps on how to get into the service menu on a Sharp TV...once your in there you need to look for either mirror image or H invert, and change that setting from on to off or off to on depending on what setting you have.

* While the LCD is on, unplug the power cable.
* Then while pressing the {INPUT} & {VOL -} buttons on the remote, plug the power cable back into the outlet.
* When it powers up you will see a little "k" appear in brackets.
* Then on the TV, press and hold {VOL -} & {CH -} down and release.
* The Service Menu will be displayed.
* Use {CH+} {CH -} buttons to navigate
* Use {VOL+} {VOL -} buttons to adjust the value.
* Turn the set off to exit the Service Menu.

I have a Panasonic PT-LM2U; when it is turned on, everything powers up fine but the image projected is upside down. I've looked through the menu but didn't see an option for flipping or rotating...

Every modern projector that I have seen has a setting that will allow you to flip the image for this.If you purchased it used it was probably configured as a ceiling mount in an upside down orientation or rear projection onto a translucent screen. (The projection method can be set from the "OPTION2" menu. in a Model LM1 so it should be similar. http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/PTLM1U.PDF

If yours doesn't have this option, then you'll have to use mounts that require the projector to be upside down.

Projector is suspended from the ceiling upside down and so it is projecting upside down. How do i get it to project the images the right way up?

Since you have not mentioned the model it is diffficult if the option of reverse image is available on the menu. If so all you need to do is to scroll the menu and reverse/invert this image. If not the other option is to mount the projector with the projector fitted on a small stand in the same direction and not invereted. I hope you will search for this in the menu or in the rear panel. If not mount it in the actual position with a stand so that you can corrrect the height using the provided screw adjusters.Helpful? Good day

Insignia TV 24 inches, don't get any image

Try power-cycling your TV (turn it off and unplug for several minutes) and reset to factory defaults via the onscreen menu system (owner's manual can be found here for more details). If these steps don't work, repairs may be necessary. Service can be obtained by carrying the unit in to the place of purchase.

I have a DLP Samsung HL-R6167w and it's not working

I had a bad digital board also. I went to parts.com to order a new part way cheaper than from repair service. the only problem I had was that after installation which is super easy 4 cables to unplug and replug. when I turned on the TV the picture came in upside down, not good. no one would give me the code to flip the screen as it is in a hidden menu, well after months of searching the web I found it!! It works for most all newer Samsung TV's. turn the TV off, hit mute then 182 and then power on button on the remote. the "hidden" menu will pop up and you scrool down to h-flip and flip the screen. I don't recommend messing with any of the other setting as you could likely really jack up the TV but at least you can fix it for a 3rd of the cost you would spend otherwise.

Panasonic PT-51HX41 rear projection tv showing shadow/double images.

Unplug the TV from the ac wall outlet for about 4 minutes then plug it back in and turn it on. If it still has a double image then tell me if it's affecting the menu screen from the TV (not the cable menu). And is the double image in red and blue?
